The silver version is just untouched stainless steel.

If you care about scratches and paint chips on Apple products it's always better to get the silver/white versions because the aluminum and stainless steel on those do not have those issues.

And if you do get a scratch on the SS you can polish them out to brand new condition. You can't do that with the colored versions because it would take off the color.

Well damn, now I'm thinking I should have got silver and not graphite.

I've had the black or graphite SS watch for years. I miss the ability to polish scratches from the silver stainless so I got that one this time. But I've always just carried AppleCare and exchanged watches when scratches became an issue. They are both great color choices IMO, and I'd have both if I could justify it. The Graphite is a nice durable watch but unfortunately the scratches won't buff out. It's not like it's that easy to scratch tho.

Same. Ordered graphite to match my iPhone. I always end up going with the darker colored option. After reading the comments here I then ordered the silver. No option to cancel the graphite. So looks like I'll get both and compare. Hopefully Walmart has a relaxed return policy. I only need one for myself.
