Could you plug the 3rd monitor into your laptop?

Urhh still quite pricey for usb-c dock, and all usb ports are running in 3.1 gen1 (5gbps). This would barely run dual monitors with low res. I liked the add-on speakers and mics but the specs really kill the deal.

So it's not a KVM? Just a dock? Yikes.

Way to expensive for what it is. Integrates microphone and speakers are not great
Features for a dock as if you are willing the spend this type of money for a dock, you probably already spent more to get a much better microphone and speakers for your setup. It only make sense if you plan to make this portable but then all laptops has microphone and speakers already if you are on the go.

For whatever reason there is horrible support for 4K at high resolutions such that you need to use a big and/or expensive HDMI 2.1 receiver, or plug directly into a computer.

I don't know why this bottleneck exists, per se, but until they can solve the bandwidth concerns that exist in the difference between real best in class workstations, and the monitors that those people want to power, this kind of stuff is going to be kind of awkward imo.

And you might be saying, well not everyone, especially in the office, is running high refresh monitors- ok, fair I guess, but this is a $400 usb dock. So clearly whoever is running this would ideally have the bandwidth available for the other nice things they would want to connect.

Cool idea, hard pass in execution. It's outdated NOW, let alone in 1-2 years, and the price point is simply too high for what it does imo.

If Logitech wants to play in the high end with little charge/display hubs costing hundreds of dollars, they need to support the high end equipment that lives at those price points.

I'm sympathetic to the idea that such technology can't be supported in a small package right now, or would cost too much, but that's just a sign this tech isn't ready for prime time yet. I hope we have a more functional version of this tech in, say, a couple of years, and it will support HDMI 2.1 and the new Displayport standard, have the highest end usb connectivity etc.

I wouldn't say it's garbage, it's just waaaaaaaaaay overpriced. This should have started off around $100. Too many other cheaper options that do more

So, It's basically a mini pc with less features and no os (?), for similar costs...not clear what the primary use case or who the consumer for this product would be.

There are cheap used/refurbished DisplayLink docks on eBay, namely Kensington SD4750P which supports 4K 60Hz video output over USB 3.0.

Those docks often come without a power brick, but can be powered by 90-120W laptop power supplies with 5.5mm DC jack.

It's a dock / speaker combo meant for conference meetings.

A standalone dock connected to a USB speaker with mic works as well for lower cost.
