I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Is there a list of carriers that qualify for the port-in offer? Or is it pretty much any carrier except for T-Mobile?

What's the easiest and fastest way to get a qualifying line? I do have a Verizon account - should I just open a new line there and port it out? Not sure how fast or cost effective this would be. I can't use any of my existing lines because they are tied to rebates.

For two, 90/2 = 45 + 60/month + 20 activation = $125 for an i11 is great, i would take $150 and not deal with the hassle since tax on the prom is on full price probably comes out to $150 anyways. What are you guys doing to port, buy an AT&T number from ebay ?

Did this deal yesterday at a corporate store. Got two iphones for $155 total. $60+$30 for service, plus $12 insurance for each, plus $20 activation fee for each. Didn't have to pay taxes in my state for whatever reason, maybe because it came out to free.

Over all a pretty painless experience. Had to deny the upsell cases and charger, but thats about it.

Use a boost mobile number bought on ebay and a google voice number I already had unlocked for $3.

Any carrier except T-mobile and mint, etc. Easiest and fastest is google voice for $3

Just dont tell them it's google voice. Say its some other provider, like Visible through Verizon. It will go through as long as they allow it. But some reps won't like that its google voice if you tell them

Thanks I didn't realize Google Voice numbers could be unlocked and ported out. I actually already have a Google Voice number which I don't want to lose, I guess I could port it out and then back to Voice (for $20) after the 1 month is over. The problem is that I'll have texts and calls going to the Metro line and it would be a hassle to have to carry 2 phones. To get around this could I convert the number to eSIM in the 11 and then transfer the eSIM to my unlocked 14?

So basically what I want to do is this:

Port GV # to Metro (pay $3) -> convert # to eSIM in iPhone 11 -> transfer eSIM to unlocked iPhone 14 -> after 1 month port # back to GV (pay $20) and cancel Metro service -> wait another 5 months for 11 to get unlocked

I just remembered that my wife has a Google Voice account that she doesn't use. So we can just port her number to Metro and apply for a new GV number.

I did this deal just last week at an authorized store (corporate store not easy to get to) but the price of the phone was $49.99.

What are the odds they will refund me the $49.99 since I am still within the 14 day return period?

I purchased two iPhones when it was 50$ in Dec 2022. But ported out within a week. Will I eligible now for this promo or should I wait for some time?

Just an FYI, T-Mobile tends to throttle 5G Metro customers. This won't be a problem on an iPhone 11 since it is only 4G. However, it likely explains why they haven't switched this promotion to an iPhone 12.

I think your high on that selling price...$200-250
Trade-in deals are the niche for these...

And if you want 2 iphones on 2 lines, they will say only 1 per member.
One manager told me that I must be with previous carrier for 4 months to be eligible to buy iPhone 11 from them. I wanted to buy 2 phone for 2 lines for my senior citizen parents and they said I must bring them in store to buy the phones for them!
