Thanks, just finished churning their credit card bonus so will do this one to. They owe me money from a old checking account I had with them (from a purchased bank) that they moved to a high fee plan when they acquired the bank. So take great pleasure in getting that money back from them.
I did this promotion last time they offered the $300 bonus. I made sure to initially deposit enough to avoid the monthly service fee then had 1 direct deposit go into the account then wait until the bonus comes. I actually just closed the account this past weekend. Worked great, easy $300

Initial deposit is like $100 and then to wave off the fee it is $2000?
they deserved a $30 fee if they couldnt afford their $5 meals. why would someone be stupid enough to use their debit card for transactions like these? and not even enough fund for a $5? how would they pay their higher bills?
Cause some people have more than one account for budgeting purposes. You have to be a completely inept and inhumane person to justify a multi-billion dollar organization, who was caught illegally opening accounts in people's names while signing then up for overdraft protection, when it has been proven that overdraft fees directly target those in a lower socioeconomic status. No one deserves that, regardless of their intelligence.
"Wells Fargo" and "YMMV" in the same sentence is concerning. Remember WF is a criminal enterprise impersonating a bank.
Totally agree. They've been caught numerous times literally defrauding their customers. Why would anyone think that this is a benefit to customers rather than a push to get more dupes in board so they can be exploited?

I don't understand people paying with debit cards but if banks weren't exploitative, it would be declined rather than used as an opportunity for usury.

That said they are the 3rd or 4th biggest bank the USA & in the top 20 in the world. They are not going out of biz soon.
