I don't like WF with all illegal crap they have pulled recently.

That said they are the 3rd or 4th biggest bank the USA & in the top 20 in the world. They are not going out of biz soon.
how long before we can close this account after receiving bonus

Odd, I tried to open it online and it said that they couldn't verify me and I had to open in branch. I guess I'll just go down the street, but that's a bit annoying.
Same thing happened to me. I took advance of a similar offer back in 2015 or so and closed account after 6 months of receiving the offer. Now try to do it again, and they asked to come to a bank. What a bummer!

i'm surprised this bank is still in business. All of their branches in my area have been closed and replaced by Chase or Citi.

Definitely not worth the risk regardless how much bonus they offer

I totally agree, most of them are the same way. Just haven't been exposed yet

what a dumb ignorant comment. A bank with market cap of $184B & net income of $12B is risky how?

At this point , all banks are over leveraged and need your money and your debt. I'll pick my poison, but it won't be with these crooks

At first I thought it'd be a hassle to have to go into a bank to open account, but then on second thought I appreciate it because some random person who happens to know my address and SSN shouldn't be able to open an account online. This is a fraud prevention step.

You must've not heard about all the accounts they were creating for ppl w/o even informing them.

even w/o that, was one of the most unimpressive experience. ...other that the stagecoach they had on display at the DT office.

"Wells Fargo" and "YMMV" in the same sentence is concerning. Remember WF is a criminal enterprise impersonating a bank.

Pretty much any bank and large business meets that definition. It's just that they own the people passing the laws and dictate the text to them.

IIR they were also big on stealing homes from people. Hopefully they stopped that at some point.

All these banks giving you money so that they can keep your money is a sign something is about to happen, right?

No...banks balance sheets are actually better than ever. They want more money to deploy more money in the next year. The more money they can hold, the more money they can lend and make money off higher interest rates. Not everything in doom and gloom.
