secondary storage drives can't all be nvme.
Good lord that's cheap. If you're still using a spin up disk as your boot drive, do yourself a favor and install one of these. Will speed up your computer massively. Startups in under 10 seconds. No more spinning and waiting. These are dirt cheap and reliable. Just clone your main drive to this and you're set.

Unless someone absolutely needs SATA, Nvme has come down to the point where it makes little sense to get this. Most people won't notice a difference in speed between nvme s. They will between notice a difference between a sata like this and that however. Get something like the posted Intel 670p instead. If getting SATA...Plenty more and better options than this Teamgroup drive.

Fair enough. Guess not everyone has 3 nvme slots like my mobo does. Though folks can slap one in a pci adapter.
I mean if you want to do that I suppose, but even still I have an old laptop I'm upgrading that doesn't have nvme or if I want to build a NAS with 8 drives (i wouldn't use this just saying)

I have a 1TB NVMe boot drive and 2x Samsung 850evo 500GB game drives. That means games are stored on SATA 3 SSD's. It could make sense for people who are heavy gamers.

What's the difference between their drives? The AX2, CX2, and EX2 all seem similar in specs.

I wouldn't buy this drive. I own a shop and had 80% of them come back dead a few weeks after installing them.

Bad drive failed after two months. Slower than advertised. Quality control is bad.

Some people look like morons when you read the verified reviews. Do you own research.

From what I could find they are all similar like you stated. They have different skus because the parts may vary slightly depending on what was available during manufacturing.

What is the name of your shop? I know a couple of people over at the USA Team Group office. Maybe I could let them know of your issues?

The AX2 is an Amazon specific SKU of the CX2. Both based on the SMI SM2258XT controller and Micron TLC NAND. The EX2 uses the same controller but Toshiba TLC NAND.

The SM2258XT controller is a proven model but getting old by today's standards. It does not have DRAM, making it good for general use secondary storage.

I bought aTeamGroup USB drive. It worked exactly one time and then wouldn't be recognized on any device. No way I'll trust my data with them.
