Who needs a 100w panel when hiking?
There are plenty of pocketable foldables in the 20-30w range which are perfect for hiking, charging phones, etc.
These panels are meant for car camping. Fold them up and shove them somewhere safe, easier and less likely to break than rigid panels, but can still charge larger batteries like ECOFlow stuff.

There are solar panels that are foldable to fit hiking backpacks. Look them up. Most have USB outlet. Some more expensive model can charge your laptop

Because 100w 10"x8" foldable ones are very difficult to deploy. You have to lay it flat on the ground and you can't make it face the sun as it should be. The small panels are really difficult to make them all face the sun.

For each panel to work, they all have to face the sun equally because the output is only as good as the weakest panel. If one panel is completely shaded, the whole solar panel will even stop producing power because each small panels do not have bypass diodes.

100w 10"x8" Folding panels are also not that thin as you are imagining. When folded , it is bulky for a backpack and having a 2 fold panel is way more convenient to carry so you can still use your backpack for other stuffs. 100w 2 fold panel isn't really that big.

Why would you want to bring a 9 pound solar panel on a hike?? I have a 30 watt panel for hiking, which is more than enough to charge a phone. I also have a 10 watt one, which is very compact.

I received a Bluetti eb3a as a gift recently. Does anyone know if this compatible with it? Or can recommend another solar panel that won't break the bank

Can u share your build details? Also have 2x100w panels from an earlier deal and have been wanting a setup like you describe
Search for "solar panel suitcase" on youtube. My panels close together glass against glass with bumpers between.
My build is based on this video for the hinges & legs (www.youtube.com/watch?v=L54IizdZcUs).
I used (2) 2-1/2 in. Zinc Plated Broad Loose Pin Hinges (Home Depot Everbilt 29307 - Internet #314151476) to connect the panels and then put another hinge vertically on the back side to keep them from closing when erected. Just take out the pin to close panels. Put some tape on the stem of the pins near the top so they fit tight in the hinge. I used #10 stainless steel bolts, washers & nuts whenever possible. The legs are Performance Tool (or Wilmar) W1475 Telescoping Prop Rods from autoplicity.com. The spacer between the rod and aluminum frame is 1/2 in. x 1 in. x 0.194 Inner Diameter Nylon Spacer (Internet #204276570).
You could use 3 legs as shown in www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMJ2R1Dfqbw

Will this solar panel work with the Ecoflow River 2 Power Station?
Ecoflow River 2 uses XT60 port for solar panel charging. You will need to buy a adapter as this panel doesn't include XT60 cable.

This would be great for car camping. Folds away for easy storage. I've got a rigid 100W panel that I thought Id' take places, but it's big, bulky and hard to store.
A nice, thin folding panel would be very nice.
This is the correct idea. These would work well for overlanding, where space is limited.

Of course, as long as you have connected it to a generator.

I bought (2) 100W rigid panels and made them into a suitcase with retractable poles as supports. I have a felt carry bag with a handle for it. Just put it on the mule and go camping.
I sure wish I had the land to just get on a mule and head out for a night or three of camping.

Why would anyone want to bring a solar panel on a hike in the first place? I can sorta see it useful on a multi day camp hike, but in reality unless above tree line or in arid climates most places are too shaded. Even if your overnighting, unless this is your base camp, the chances of adequate sunlight charging anything of value while your moving is marginal. A 30w panel would adequately charge, but they means your stopping for a while. just get a large battery pack and your good for 2-3 days.

that said why would you want to bring a large solar panel on a hike... if the hike is for a purpose, like powering a repeater for search and rescue operations, where there is no cell service, and radio signals can't propogate well over the terrain. you lug solar and batteries and a repeater station to the top, deploy your antenna array so that the different search teams have reliable communications.
