Thanks! Just bought 1 for curbside pick up!

I have been watching for the Costco.com that comes with two 4AH batteries & rapid charger to go down to $540 again.

Anyway, this one will work for me too since I already have 2 extra 4AH batteries & chargers.

Run far far away from this snow thrower. Power aside, it is not very well made. The chute regularly mis-aligns with the worm gear, so you end up having to manually turn it. The angle of the chute will flat out be impossible to adjust right when it gets the coldest and slushiest. Ive had it repaired twice in the three years I have owned it.

Everything else about single-stage, issues with wet snow, etc., has already been said.

I LOVE their lawn mowers, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, and leaf blower. But this snow thrower needs to go back to drawing board...

I thought about getting this since I'm in the Kobalt 80V line (made by Greenworks) but complaints about it keep me away. I've got a 24 in Ariens but wouldn't mind a battery option at some point for non-storm snows.

I have this and it's useless to me in Western New York where we get lake effect. Basically only handles dustings or a couple inches.

It's a shame because I own several greenworks products and am invested in their eco system. I'm now looking to switch to Ego since I bought the 24" 2 stage and it's an absolute beast. Handled all 3 major snow storms this year with ease.

I was skeptical about this snow blower due to varied comments on SD threads for this model (note, NOT the similar Greenworks 80v model with the all-plastic paddles, but this one with the metal/hard-rubber paddles), but I picked up this same model from Costco with the 2x battery.

So far, with the 5 or 6 snows we've had this winter in the Midwest, it's performed like a champ. One of those snows was extremely heavy/wet snow, and that's when I thought it would have problems and/or not be able to handle. It certainly did "bog down" a little bit more (primarily when going over deeper patches or spots where I'd blown snow on top of fallen snow), but ultimately it still got the job done pretty well. Going through the heavy/wet stuff definitely chewed through battery more quickly, but I still had enough juice to get the job done for my driveway, sidewalk, and my neighbor's driveway with the 2 batteries.

I think with these battery-powered snow blowers, it's very much a YMMV type of thing with what the snow is like in your region, size/grade/etc of your driveway or sidewalk, etc. But for me, I've been extremely pleased with this, so far. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, since I was on the fence before snagging from Costco.

That is also worth mentioning...getting from Costco yields doubling of the battery warranty to 8 years (from the standard GW 4 year warranty), which is awesome. Also, having the peace of mind with Costco's return policy....those 2 aspects are what really sold me on buying this snow blower since I was sort of on the fence with reading others' comments on SD threads and reviews.

This is unacceptable when they claim 4 year warranty: Parts such as belts, blades and impellers are considered wearable item and are not covered under the 4-year warranty.

I think this post pretty accurately mirrors my experience so far with this snow blower. I purchased when Costco had it on sale this past Thanksgiving and so far it's performed fine through the 5-6 snowfalls we've had in southern WI this winter. It does struggle with slushy snow and the chute rotate lever can be a little stubborn. I'm sure there will be snowfalls it won't be able to handle (or I'll have to do an initial round mid-snow) but we really don't get those very often where I live, My other complaint is that it really don't scrape the snow up all the way to the pavement, which I knew in advance due to some other reviews. This is a little bit annoying but it doesn't leave more than will melt after a day in the sun so I'm willing to live with it, and I may try to make some adjustments to the sliders/scraper once it warms up.

My main reason for posting is about the battery warranty mentioned. With yesterday's 30% off deal sitewide at Greenworks, I was looking to see if there were other tools I might *need* so I can get some use out of the batteries this summer (this is my first GW purchase). I happened to notice that GW will soon sell an extended warranty on their battery, which as mentioned above, is a perk that comes free when purchasing from Costco. The price is listed as $115 for the 80v 4Ah battery, so there is a significant value added by going through Costco. https://www.greenworkstools.com/c...on-battery

Comments about "this is garbage" aside, I'm wondering if this, or any, snow thrower would be suitable for my situation - I've got a crushed limestone (gravel) driveway. It's well-packed, but not totally flat and with the electric snow shovel and one other corded snow thrower, small rocks occasionally get picked up and once in a while block the impeller (?). Would this be resilient to those cases, or do i risk stripping a gear and wrecking it? (If it's belt driven, i imagine it would be okay.)

As I mentioned in my other post, the scraper does not sit flush to the ground; it leaves maybe an eighth of an inch of snow, which might be enough to pass above the gravel of your driveway without catching on too many rocks. I think some snow blowers have adjustable skids/scrapers to account for gravel drives, so that might be a feature to search out. This video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bns75MJ4MqM) clearly shows the amount of snow left after the machine passes over, although it looks little thicker than what's left with mine. The model shown is also a year older, so GW might have made some adjustments from year to year. I can't really see a gravel-sized rock blocking the blades/paddles, but maybe check out some videos that give a good view of the mechanism to see what you think.

I bought this from Costco during Black Friday, but returned it after just 1 plow. The main issue I had was that it kept leaving about 1/4" of snow on the pavement. It doesn't scrape, and therefore it also doesn't self propel. You need quite a bit of pushing force if snow is wet and heavy. However, the 4 Ah battery was nice. I was surprised that it was the same size as my 2 Ah battery, but heavier.

I wouldn't take a green works snow blower if it was free. Just returned one to Walmart. Dumb thing was a waste of plastic. I should have known better.
