I wish it was chrome molybdenum instead of chrome vanadium. But $20 is absolutely a great price for both 3/8" and 1/2" sizes.

Which is stronger chrome molybdenum vs. chrome vanadium?

Chrome molybdenum, also called Cr-Mo or chromoly, is a type of steel made from combining chromium, molybdenum, iron, and carbon alloy elements. It has stronger impact resistance, strength, and toughness than chrome vanadium, so it is typically used for tools like impact sockets.

I figured I'd get one - but shipping for me is the middle of March. I'm not a Prime member, but just note if you're buying to check the ship date on it.

Jeffy said two day shipping, I guess he never said *which* two days.

In for one anyway, at this price can't resist.

i think this particular socket set is not eligible for prime 2days other than the "free shipping"

I have never in my life wanted an impact socket smaller than 14mm. But even if you did, 3/8" is virtually identical to 10mm when you consider how loose impact sockets fit.

Also, 19mm = 3/4"

Hilarious that people downvote that...very few work with SAE, at least on cars.

So many make comments on "sleazy marketing tactics" for including lil screwdriver bits in toolkit counts, when nearly 50% of sockets included will not be taken out of a box but for a mistake.

I would buy this kit for casual use, no biggie, but I know I'd have zero use for the SAE fillers, and so would the yuge majority of buyers. $20 is nothing, but it could be $12 for a metric only kit. Talking about how to cut emissions: stop producing things that very few need and bundling them with things you cannot do without.

I'll give you the 19mm, as it's close, but you cant use a 9.5mm socket on most 10mm head fasteners. Especially painted or coated fasteners.

In my experience (I have no idea if it's spec'd that way) impact sockets have a slightly looser fit. I don't know if the 3/8" socket in this kit would fit 10mm fasteners, but it might.

Either way, for anything about 50ft-lb of torque (and especially for smaller fasteners that are likely to be in cramped locations) I have no qualms about using thin-wall chrome sockets. I've broken maybe a couple over the years, but no more than what I've broken by hand.
