The games are technically timed, but we have no idea for how long. It's not like the Essential tier where the games change every month.

PS+ Extra games are only available to play for a limited time. (Like a trial)

PS+ Essential games may be played whenever as long as you have PS+ active.

Is it worth upgrading for plus extra $20 or $30 premium, for my remaining 6 months of PlayStation plus essential? Although I'm still playing on ps4 pro console

Yeah I just got upgraded to Extra because I was going to play Outer Wilds anyway and got stuck with a bunch of unplayed games still in their wrappers that I haven't played. At least I can resell them!
