Mint doesn't lock Pixel phones, so you can use it on any network right away.

Note you need to add some to the price for 12 months worth of the regulatory fees that they will charge at checkout. Probably $20 to $30 depending where you are.

Can probably resell the SIM but be cautious to tell the person they must port in a number within 45 days to get the 6 months free.

Yes, it works on all major carriers. Also, the GSM vs CDMA issue is almost moot at this point. Verizon decommissioned their CDMA network on January 3rd this year and Sprint decommissioned theirs in June 2022. So new phones, unless they are carrier locked for some other reason, should work with any carrier.

I already have an extra line with them, can I purchase this and use the 6 months or is it port only
If you don't port, you get 6 months, but you can't add it to an existing plan unless you convince a support rep to do it, which is far from a sure thing.

If you port, you get 12 months.

Say what you want about mint/t-mobile, but show me a link where I can buy a brand new unlocked Pixel 7 for anywhere near $389. You can't. This is a deal if mint works for you.
Considering the next cheapest is $500 (best buy / amazon without any service) even if mint doesn't work for you, pretty good deal.

So, what's a total costs after 12 months by the purchase of this phone? Are you a slow one or working for the mint?
$180/year if you want to stay on 4 GB plan. Add 5*12 for 10 GB. I didn't do that calculation since you are already a math wiz and know all about THE mint

I'm an existing customer, asked support chat if I could take this offer:

"If you want to get the Pixel 7 bundle, you just need got o to our website, to the section "deals" > https://mintmobile.com/deals/ and you will be able to check all our deals. Those deals are for new customers that the requirement is port a number form another carrier and they receive a discount. You can purchase this deals too, and receive the phone discount, but please kindly keep in mind that you wont be able to use the the 12 months plan that came with the phone, as you are going to keep your same number. And we are unable to transfer a Mint number to another Mint SIM card."

So if you just want the phone for under $400, seems like a deal anyway, moreso if you can port a number in for the service.
Yeah you might be able to convince them to transfer the 6 months you paid for to your existing account (might being the key word). Try the reddit forum as the support account there has done it for people before. You won't get the 6 free months though.

You could also port out to something else then port back in but you'd lose any remaining service on your current mint account.

So this is essentially $200 off the phone and 50% off service. Great deal.

Activation is needed but a new line is not required ($399).
You realize that requires you to commit to buy service, and the price of that service is not included right? It is $499 with no service. If you are upgrading device and they support that carrier, as far as I know they tack on a fee that will make it somewhere between the two prices.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, if the pixel 7 is unlocked from Mint, can't you just add your sim card from your phone provider and use it that way? Not having to even use Mint service?
In essence paying$400 for a brand new pixel 7??
Yes, correct, phone is not locked to Mint.

Thanks, but I'm not seeing it. The fine print says:
50% of 12 months is 6 months free.

Can I sign up for a new number with Mint with this deal?
Yes but you will only get 6 months of service, not 12. Better to buy a number from Numberbarn or similar and port it in.

What if I already have mint mobile
Then you get a phone for $389 (plus about $20 in fees) and give/sell the SIM.

Current Mint customer. I gave it a go with customer service to see if they would match the deal for a current customer. No luck, but the rep did say it will be extended to current customers "very soon."
Yeah that rep is full of it. They've never given any of these new customer deals to existing customers. You are welcome to buy the phone as an existing customer for $389, and give the service away or sell it. Or you can sometimes convince them to credit the 6 months to your account (you won't get the free 6 months though).
