This looks similar (ish) in features to the Voodoo Pedal Power Plus 2. Any idea if it's any good? I feel like for 45 bucks it's worth giving a shot.

The similarly priced stuff on Amazon doesn't have an on/off switch and usually have their own specific power adapter. This one has an AC cable which is easier to replace.

BUT it looks like it only has five 9v. It has one 12v and two variable 12v? Kinda weird to have three 12v.

I'm on the fence.

I guess OK for a small board, but then would it fit as an undermount?

The variable ports can do from 9v to 12v. Some analog pedals can take a range of voltage and it effects the sound it creates. This allows you to dial that in. But if you only need 9v, just turn it all the way counter clockwise.

Plus the cheaper stuff on Amazon isn't always truly isolated.

Having said that, I haven't actually used this before. Ordered one at this price to try it out.

To expand on what PortabelloRoad wrote, "sagging" the voltage like this can result in different outputs from your pedal. Some fuzz pedals sound different/better with a dying battery (less voltage) and those knobs help you simulate that. It's a cool feature to have.

Thanks OP - was interested, but the Trio+ unit I have needs 800 mA, so be sure to check your power requirements before you order.

It says 6-12. You'd probably have to use a multimeter to get it to 9v. Also, if the voltages ever get stuck, youd risk damaging a 9v pedal.

Might be a great choice for people with old ACA boss pedals.

Most analog pedals aren't going to be damaged if you don't provide exactly 9v. I think the Gibson Mestro Fuzz, the first fuzz pedal ran on one 1.5v. AA battery and most Fuzz pedals only draw a few Milliamps of power and can probably handle all kinds of votages. Digital pedals may not even work at all if they don't have a sufficient supply of amperage at exactly the right voltage.

A lot of the Digitech and digital Line6 pedals require a higher current draw than Analog pedals. Better to have a CIOKS supply with the proper adapters to combine the current from two isolated power supply if you have a lot of digital pedals.

I might just buy this one to see just how isolated each of these power supplies actually is.

Anyone have one of these who can verify if it truly is fully isolated? A lot of inexpensive pedal power supplies claim that but aren't in reality. If it is that's a really good deal!
