Metro allows their phones to be unlocked after ~180 days. Some Metro phones work with T-Mobile out of the box, though I'm not sure if that's the case with this specific phone.

Does it have to be in the drawer the whole 6 months? Will it still unlock if I use it on wifi without taking out the sim?
Can someone verify this please. TIA Smilie

How is this popular? 2 years ago I received A32 5G for "free" from TMobile by trading in an old worn out phone. No new line or anything. $50 for fees and tax.

Yes, it was 64GB.
This is available for anyone even new customers, you most likely have been with tmobile for a long time so it's normal to get a free budget phone as an upgrade after a you've been with a carrier for a while.

Can I buy this phone and put a different METRO SIM with another number? Will it work? I am putting only a metro sim, not another carrier.

Since they have your credit card number wont they automatically charge it every month? Are you sure there is no contract and we are liable only for $50 initial payment?

The N200 worked with Tmobile out of the box. So earlier today I tried to unlock it while my tmobile sim was inserted and it worked. I am now Permanently unlocked. BTW, it was at 182 days in.

Was that "free" via bill credits?

Yes it will work, just make sure you transfer your service by using the metro app on the old phone, or by calling metro customer service, then you can just swap sim card

I have ordered Moto G 5G stylus one for $40 in last December. Is there any limitation per address/person to buy another phone like this?
From previous threads, it looks like the limit is 2 free phones per address. I have not verified this.

You can login to your account and verify auto recharge is turned off. Usually it's turned off by default.

Must the first month of service need to be activated for it to unlock after 180 days. How does one stop the recurring $50 monthly charge from being deducted from the credit in the account.

I just now ordered my 3rd 5G Stylus after getting 2 in December. Arguably, this is a better phone.
