Just pay for first month and put phone in drawer for 6 months and then unlock.
Why do ppl say to put in the drawer? Avoid ping detection etc for whatever reason?

Just a figure of speech. Nothing more, nothing less.
And no, Metro isn't hunting you down or tracking you to make sure you pull out your credit card each month.

LMAO. It's just an expression, meaning "leave it alone" somewhere. If you don't want to put it in an actual drawer, put it in the fridge, the bathroom, kitchen pantry, etc... LMAO

Okay...literally ppl say "drawer" all the time. It's like the trendy word to use w/ metro PCS knowing we all buy to wait it out 6 months lol

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/r...s/activate

Go to the second half of page: Did you purchase your phone or SIM card from MetrobyT-Mobile.com?
and click activate.
Work?

Or just go here, your order number is in your confirmation email Metro/T-Mobile sent you after ordering, enter zip code, you set up your pin during ordering...

What if you're currently with T-Mobile postpaid and want to get this? Can you port from TM to Metro so you don't have to pay for an extra line and then wait 6 months before being able to unlock it and use it on TM? Does the unlocking apply only to carriers outside the TM/Metro network, or also to TM from Metro?

We're currently on the 2-line 55+ Magenta (not Max) plan for $75/mo total, so even if we could port to Metro to get this phone we'd end up paying either $25 (2 x $50 = $100 - $75 = $25) extra for the one month if it can be ported back to TM in a month, or 6 x $25 = $150 if not and we have to wait 6 months.

Either way that's a great deal for 2 S23's. But that's assuming that this can be done.

Btw do they also offer TMobile Tuesdays on Metro?

Also, with 4GB RAM & 64GB storage, this is the "low end" S23, right? Any other cons, like no wireless or fast charging, etc.?
The one month that I had the 40 dolllar plan I could use T-Mobile Tuesdays which was great because I'm on the 15 dollar plan and unable to use it even though I'm T-Mobile Prepaid

I can't order this phone Frown I tried 3 times and every time I get the message your security is important to us blah blah and call or go to a store. When I called they told me go to a store too. I wish I didn't order the galaxy A14. I ordered that phone last week and a day later saw this deal posted. The A23 seems like a very good phone for daily use, while the A14 seems like not a good enough for that.

Does the 6 month unlock timer start only upon activation?

Basically, if I don't activate the SIM card for one month service, I cannot unlock the phone in 6 months?
According to the Metro website, they will activate for you automatically: "Service will begin when you receive and activate your phone. If you do not activate your phone within 20 days, Metro by T‑Mobile will automatically activate your phone on Day 21."

Just did two in a row, single orders, no VPN or cache clearing or private browsing needed, but using Chrome as suggested. $50 per shot on virtual card numbers generated from Citi, if that does any good. These will be stuffed in a drawer to wait for kids' new school year- then I'll use their T-Mobile lines to get my wife and I A54 upgrades when they finally release to replace our dying OnePluses.

Where'd you get that info? My mom's A10 got several updates throughout the life of the phone. Why would a newer A series get less or just one?!
You commented to my previous comment where I was saying that the 2022 Moto G Stylus 5G would probably get 1 or 2 software updates, and as far as your comment - I never heard of a Motorola "A10".
If you are familiar with Motorola phones, you would know that they got no more than 2 software updates - specifically for their lower and mid range phones.

Who said less updates?
Since the A23 is a better phone than the A14 - it would make sense that it should have more software updates since it has a better Snapdragon processor than the A14 that has a mediatek processor, but even if it has the same software updates as the A14, still, the A23 is a better phone than the A14.
