Have two of these that I purchased from woot as refurbs. The motors of both units have an ear-piercing whine. The WiFi of one of the units is no longer functioning.

yes they are expensive. considered this deal but Costco route is a better deal when on sale for $99 and includes extra filters for those with membership.

Are you buying aftermarket filters? Official filters are $60 on the official website.

I love everything about this filter except the auto-sleep feature in low light/dark when the auto fan speed is selected. I can't figure out how to disable it.

I also bought from Woot and the Wifi stopped working in the first week. I don't need Wifi function so I didn't want to deal with returning it. I find the Coway Airmega 300 more quiet but that cost a lot more. I have a small one by Honeywell through my utility company and that's really loud.

I have 3 total: 2 refurb woot and 1 Costco. All 3 working great. The LEDs are a little bright so I've dimmed them with electrical tape.

Also, Wi-Fi works great when the kids aren't pressing the Wi-Fi disable button.

This may be a dumb question but would this help eliminate dust in a room? I mean, make it so that it's not so dusty?

If the dust is airborne then definitely. I have terrible allergies and don't dust as much as I should, and mine definitely help keep my symptoms at bay.

It's funny, I have two refurbs from Woot from probably two years ago. They're still working fine. I have another one I bought new from Costco late last year, and it's developed a whine on the motor. Quality control isn't great, but I don't know whether the refurbs are less reliable than new units. I have to contact Winix about a replacement but haven't done so yet.

I don't trust woot as they lack inspection and most items are crap . Costco the way to go I have 3 of these with extra filters they work great ! It does work better if you close all windows while on though . Great for dust particles smoke smell if you have allergies can help !

I have close to a dozen of these for my Airbnbs. They're great. Mobile app is a train wreck at times, but manageable.

About half of mine were refurbished. Two of the refurbished ones had issues, and Winix was very fast to respond and ship replacements. I'm satisfied with their customer support and their product. Except for the mobile app.

I bought two of these, one new and one refurbished like this. The new one I had running for about 20 months, pretty much 24/7 - now it makes a clattering noise when set above medium. Before that, it worked so well that I bought a refurb. The refurb unit started making a high pitch whining noise so obnoxious that I can't run it past low after 4 months - just past the 90 day return window. Then the other one went and started rattling!

20 months for around 80 dollars is nothing to laugh at, thing is quiet as a whisper when it works right. Aftermarket filters are a quarter of the price of the brand name. I'm just not sure if I would buy another refurb unit of these after what I've been through with them.
