Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

I was able to successfully order this phone, but not without issues. After filling out all the requested information, I tried to place my online order. I was greeted with the attached web page (click attached pic).

I called the number in the purple box and the Metro person had no idea of what to do other than to redo my entire order with her, over the phone, including security questions. Total cost, $40. She said I'll be able to access my online account after activation. I'll undo auto-pay at that time.

I worked my *** off to get this deal. Hope it's worth it.

Ordered one motorola g stylus 5G on my iPhone using safari. Didn't even see any problem like last time ordering the Samsung A14 5G. The only difference is this time it checked my credit history and asked me 5 security questions only seen from pulling my credit history.

Does anyone know if this motorola g stylus 5G comes with a stylus (pen)? This picture in metro doesn't show the stylus but other website shows it
It's prepaid why is it pulling your credit history? You probably got it sold to tigerdirect, jk

I have tried every imaginable browser, with ad blocking off in private windows, from multiple IP addresses, both mobile and desktop devices. Still nothing.

Does this phone or Metro phones in general work with Visible/Tracfone after being unlocked.

This one has the bands to work on the Verizon network but I am not sure if Metro blocks non T-Mobile bands on their phones

What web browser did you use please?
I initially tried Chrome and it was a no-go, then a VPN too and still nada!
My order surprisingly went through without any issues.
I used Chrome browser incognito mode on my laptop connected to my home ISP.
If it helps I used gmail and let the predictive snail address fill in the address fields.
Ship date 2/20-2/23

the identity check at the end of the order is creepy.

Is it using my credit card info to ask me my previous addresses?

even though it does not have my ss#

I got this phone back in 12/2022 and been sitting in the box since. I was wondering, after unlocking the bootloader and installing the default firmware from Motorola's Tool, would that be an issue for the phone to unlock after 180 days?

My point is... should I wait to unlock the bootloader until Metro unlocks the IMEI first?

The deal is still alive. Their web site is a total shit-show and they run out of inventory and add more sporadically.

I just ordered one of each on two separate orders:

Motorola moto g stylus 5G
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G

I used Firefox on my PC in incognito mode and finally got it to work. Ive been trying to get an order through for the past 2 days using mobile and PC with several different browsers and experienced the same problems most others have already reported here and in the other thread. Their website is the absolute worst I have ever experienced anywhere, EVER! Its amazing that company even exists.

I experienced a new problem I dont think anyone has posted here yet. When creating a new 8 digit PIN number, it initially accepted it but then failed. I re-entered the PIN and it still failed. I called their extremely rude and incompetent customer service line and spoke with someone (or something) with extremely broken Chinglish language skills. I had to keep asking it what it was trying to say, while attempting to interpret the chanting spew of unintelligible gibberish exiting its lips. I finally concluded that it would set up a new account for me... BUT IT WOULD NEED TO CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL $20 TO DO IT! If that's how their shitty company treats new potential customers after already frustrating them, they aren't about to get my business after all Ive been through with them already, so I hung up. The phones are optional for me and were to be used as backups, so I would likely never use them.

Before I closed my browser, I entered a random 8 digit number into the PIN and it worked! If the idiot on their CS line had given me an explanation of their PIN requirements, I could have completed it myself. But it chose to try to rip me off instead and lost a customer. After completing the order, I closed the browser and opened a new window in incognito mode and repeated the same process for the second phone, using the exact same information, PIN and credit card, etc.

Tmobile absolutely does NOT deserve our business and many of us wasted a great deal of time dealing with their gross incompetence. We worked hard to buy these phone from their extremely rude Chinese company, damn it! Big Grin Once we receive them, PLEASE, lets all let the 180 days expire, then unlock the phones and use them with different providers... which is what most people seem to be doing anyway. Wink

PS - SCREW YOU, TMOBILE SCUM!! Chairbash

You are not the only one who found the identity check to be a major pain in the butt.

My order wouldn't go through with a VISA gift card even though there was more than enough balance on it to pay for several months.

Cha-Ching!!!!
Unless you activate it, these phones won't be unlocked 180 days later.
But when you do that the phones aren't exactly "new".

Or you simply selling them as locked phones?
