Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

Did you place 10 separate orders with 10 different email and payment methods? The website does not even let people place one order successfully. I'm wondering how did you even complete these orders.
I would be surprised if Mr "CHA-CHING!!! (nba2k18)" replies. He is a braggart and it's all about him. What a wonderful asset to SD - sigh...

They're back in stock - I just placed an order, only glitch is that I had to retry a couple times on the final order screen.

Anyone else getting a security error: "Please contact us to complete your order... Your security is important to us ..."? I got the technical issues error a few times, but now I'm getting this one. I'm traveling right now, so I wondered if it might be related to that or if it's common like the technical issues message.

Yup. Yet another glitch. Hit my CC twice each of 2 tries. Cripe, I only want another one for my Grandson. MetroPSC website is a royal mess...

Check your original order.

Ordered by mistake?

They sent the wrong phone.

I was, too, until I fired up my Windows machine instead of my Mac and used Edge (for the first time in months). Also used my own domain name instead of Gmail or Yahoo, and a cell number not attached to TMobile. It worked immediately, even with a credit card and address I've used several times. It would also not work on my phone. Good luck.

I used my work computer with chrome incognito. Gave my newly issued debit card and different billing and shipping address. At the end it asked me identity verification questions and had to answer them to get the order through.

Tried twice and got the same error ""Please contact us to complete your order... Your security is important to us ..." and both the times my card charged $40. Hope I don't have to call them as my card already charged.

note that the comparison that you are referencing is comparing the moto g stylus to the much more expensive A53, not the A23
Thanks for pointing it out, I just saw it now. I found a few online reviews and the A23 seems to suffer from slowness and lags as compared to the Moto 5G on the same 695 processor, probably 6GB RAM on the Moto would make the difference here

My phone arrived today. I already setup a pin and account in the order process. How do I login to my account? It asks for my phone number for my account. It will not let me login with my email and pin. Do I start over and create a new account? Since the phone and account are new, I do not have a phone number yet.
how about login with your phone # and pin and then call CC to merge /update email for 1st a/c. ?

If you're having problems with noticeable lag, one thing to do is to try turning off the virtual RAM thing that Samsung enables by default. Search for "RAM plus" under settings.

Turning that off removed the awful long pauses/lags on my A23/A53.
