It's only their mid-torque tool. Had this been their high torque tool, then that would be a ridiculous deal.
Which 99% of people working on their own vehicles don't need. It's bigger and heavier than this too.

It's already a great deal as long as you either need another tool or return whichever one you don't want.

Most people reading this would never need the high torque. Its heavy and not a easy carry/daily use tool. I have one and rarely use it and I am a mechanic.

My mid-torque, older gen, gets used everyday I work on cars. I just ordered this one to replace my old one. New one is a hair lighter and makes a little more power.

And just a FYI for those that missed it...

This deal is still available but you have to use a backdoor method now.

Go to to the "free" item you want like...

Ratchet...

Circular Saw...

And add the impact gun there and then it will allow you to add to your cart at discount.

i've only had to use LSA twice, on two 2Ah batteries... it's pretty great being able to call a company, they have you do a few things with them on the phone, then ship you a replacement and tell you to dispose of the battery.
i haven't had any tools that needed to make use of the LSA, but i've read those you need to bring in for inspection. last time i looked there weren't any facilities in my area, so i'm unsure if HD would do it or if you'd need to mail back... i'm sure somebody else on here can comment on that case.
Thank you for the feedback. It is good to know they replace the battery and that is worth a small cost.

Does anyone have a good comparison article/video comparing the max output 4.0 battery that comes in this kit compared to the old "hyper" 4.0 batteries that had the rubber impact protection on them? These: https://m.media-amazon.com/images...-FcwCL.jpg

I have three of those old 4.0, thinking about selling the battery and charger with the kit. But if it's a big improvement I'll keep it.

Watch the YT torque test channel. Harbor freight is coming on strong with their latest Hercules tools. They new mid-torque tool just beat out all the other guys at a fraction of the cost.
Yes, I saw that and make me wonder about them too. I don't think I will get them unless they are on clearance or my tools broke down.

I have the older mid torque and high torque too. High torque for me is for the crank bolt only, it's big heavy and scary. I try it once on lug nut, come right off without impact, make me worry it can snap the stud off if not careful.

Haha funny you say that. I bought the high torque as I do a lot of Honda V6 timing belts and the crank bolt is always a problem till I bought the high torque gun.

But yea its to heavy for general use. Let alone I only use for removal, no installs.

Max should preform better than hyper.
Octane newer version than hyper and max is newer naming for octane.
Tool with octane support will perform better with octane battery.
If you use it a lot on high power application, you might see the difference.
For example I use them for power wheel, non octane one won't go as fast and get hot faster and hit thermal cutoff on a hot day. Octane one have no problem.
Unless you have Lsa on your hyper, sooner or later the battery performance will just keep dropping and you will want to replace them.

Thanks, I've got LSA on my three 4.0 hyper batteries. Never had to return one but I barely use them.
I watched the youtube video reviewing this torque wrench and both batteries were probably stronger than my hyper batteries.

Wow, does it actually remove those crank bolts? Whenever I had to do it in my TL or Accord, I'd go borrow my cousin's 1-1/4 gun… couldn't believe how tight those things get.

The high torque had over 800 ft lbs of reverse torque in tests, I assume it can. I would think it would have no issue.

The model in this thread can probably remove one in Arizona.

i don't know, that's why i'm impressed it can... i have a IR 2135TiMAX, specs say 780ftlbs, dunno how it actually performed in a controlled environment, real world test, but i know for sure it won't budge a V6 crank bolt.
like i said, only way i could get them off was getting my cousin's huge 1-1/4 gun that he uses for dump trucks and farm equipment. the gun is hilarious, it's like a foot and half long.

Yep no issue at all. I also use a thick socket 19mm as well. Can get them for less than $20 so that plus a high torque gun and they pop right off.
