Also, if you already have a pro account, you can extend your subscription by going to the windscribe.com/upgrade after logging in and using the stacksocial code there.

Already have a 3 yr plan, but if I bought this, would it stack/add onto my current plan? And I know it says, "Only available to new users", but thought that I had read in a past SD thread that people had done this.

Also, for all of you that got a lifetime deal years ago, no one cares.

Handling fee is $1.99 on top of that. Mine came out to be $56.10 with handling and taxes.

I can confirm it stacks and adds to your current plan.

Doesn't the lifetime deal have an end date as well? I vaguely remember that it was for something like 6 years. Will they extend it beyond that date?
I bought it on July 2nd 2017
Expiry date says November 28th 2027

So yea, I think they do extend it since iirc, it use to have an earlier date

I had windscribe for years. Never had a problem with it. Super easy to use and it worked well. I'm with Nord now but I'd get windscribe again.

Thanks for posting this OP

Guys it's absolutely worth trying windscribe out for the longest while my experience with it was very positive (BUT.. see below) .. I think there's a free version you can download and try first before buying this too ... but I'd like to share my experience though it's absolutely worth noting it could be just me alone suffering this problem.

After I first installed it to Windows 10 (stubbornly remained on Win 8 for the longest time out of laziness ) Windscribe worked fine for me right up until I disconnected it .. at which point I could not connect to the internet at all when not in Windscribe ... a call to comcast/xfinity worked as far as having them reset my modem (did it the old fashioned way by calling xfinity's automated system and having it reset the modem then powering the modem on and off, a phone call was necessary to, according to the xfinity rep, "push" the signal back to the modem) and I got my internet back.. but did some research after that and there are some bitter complaints from windscribe users stating the service isn't what it used to be... I found their tech support to be prompt as far as responding to my email asking what happened but all they could suggest is to download the latest version (they'd gone on to a new version since then ) and try again.. which I'm honestly unwilling to do since it was such a hassle to get my internet back the first time

So if it was me personally.. make a backup of Windows (I've heard good things about even the free version of Macrium Reflect but make sure you create the macrium reflect recovery usb drive too if you go that route, even a 16 GB cheap usb 2.0 drive will do the trick) before installing this so you can restore your previous version of Windows if necessary as an absolute last resort if a call to your internet provider doesn't work.. then again it could be just me having problems.

Makes me really sad actually, I was enjoying using my (yes I know no one cares I got a free windscribe account ) account ... not sure if a paid version of windscribe would work better?
Windscribe has a firewall feature which blocks internet access if VPN become disabled for some reason. To get your internet back you just need to disable that feature.

I did this. I regret it. If you use the vpn on your iPhone, the app is terrible. It disconnects me from wifi constantly for some insane reason, it regularly makes me toggle the connection on and off because sites just decide to stop loading, about once a week it forgets its configuration and asks me to allow vpn configurations. I thought maybe it might just be something I was doing wrong, but I went on their subreddit asking if it happened to anyone else and pretty much everyone one there agreed the iOS app is just terrible. NordVPN I would maybe have one issue a month where I had to reboot my phone.

Speed wise, in the beginning months, I'd get nowhere near the same speeds as I did with NordVPN (between 8-17mpbs on average), whereas with the first month or two with Windscribe, I'd be lucky to hit 2mbps. The speeds eventually got much higher, but they only happened once I cut back on how much I download (the poor speeds discouraged me from downloading higher quality stuff overall). Or now that I think about it, once the holidays were over they got better.

I sort of expected that Windscribe might be at least a bit inferior, but I didn't think it would be enough that it would bother me, especially considering the price and length of the sub. I was wrong on that. Nord for me just worked, it just felt like my normal everyday internet. Windscribe just feels like a compromise.

If you only use the dekstop app and download speeds aren't important to you, it's probably better to go with Windscribe, but otherwise I'd recommend staying with nord.
Ive had them all and always go back to Mulvad. It's around $5 a month.

Glad I got a lifetime account for $20 years ago. Decent VPN. I do occasionally get some sites saying they have to verify that I'm not a bot. On very rare occasions, sites will refuse to work depending on the server I'm using.
I got a lifetime plan too back in the day. But mine still says expires in 2027, does your? Why does "lifetime" mean 10 years?

Be advised if you use wireguard on multiple devices they only give you like 4 or 5 keys to use. IKEV2 you can use on however many you want though. Also, the Ukrainian government aka the good guys seized windscribes servers in 2021

Mine says the same too, 10 years from the date I bought it. Someone said as long as you use it it keeps extending. 🤷🏻

Yeah, people here are either envious or hate your guts because you mentioned you got a "lifetime" deal back in the days, even if your intent is to describe your experience and not rub it in. It's not like we're downvoting this deal or saying you can do better with a lifetime deal; we understand no such deals exist any more.

Not on my smart phone but it works on my laptop watching my home team. Apparently MLB app can detect you're really located in your black out area

Hard to find a VPN of this quality and feature set at this price point.

I just reupped a few months ago and I'm comfortable with three years at a time.

Good deal!

Yes, there is a split tunneling feature that you can set to inclusive/exclusive mode where you can specify which apps are included/excluded in the VPN tunnel.

What is Split Tunneling and how to use it [windscribe.com]
Thanks. That sounds easy enough. I use BTGuard currenly. You just download their version of utorrent, and it uses their VPN. It's expensive though. It's $60 per year and only works with the utorrent app unless you pay more for their VPN service.

The expiration date will continue to be pushed back as time passes.

I cry inside every time I think about it. I was using PIA at the time (which was fine) and just blew the deal off. I later went to Windscribe and I'm still using them. It hurts.

I used to have windscribe several years ago and my max speeds were around 10-15MB/s (cant remember exact max speed)

Anyone know their consistent max speeds for windscribe in the US?

Right now I am using mullvad and i can max out my spectrum 500Mb/s (about 50MB/s). I dont want to go back to 10-15MB/s if windscribe has not upgraded their speeds.

Thanks for the tip! My current subscription doesn't expire until next year. Just extended it to 2027.
