Wait till after May 2023 7 Year merger agreement Ends and can legally add data caps and modem fees again. They tried back in 2020 to get FCC to allow them

Then put the router next to the modem/TV, connect the modem to the router, and the router to your TV, and replace your existing router with a switch.

Connecting your TV straight to the modem without a router/firewall is a bad idea, if that's how you were planning on using the second port on this modem.
Unless you have at least a prosumer router that can take advantage of link aggregation (multiple WAN ports), or pay for multiple ISP links and have multiple routers for failover, having two ports isn't a big limitation for most setups.

Anyone have experience with a renewed device? is it worth the extra money for the piece of mind of a new device?

I've bought a few renewed SBs in the past and they all seemed to be fine in comparison to new ones I have owned. However, I would suggest you purchase the 3-year protection for 8$ to have some assurance if there any doubts

I picked up a renewed SB8200 on a previous SD, and it's been running flawlessly for about a year and a half. Physically, it looked brand new, and came with all the accessories.

The only issue that you might run into is if it wasn't removed from the previous user's account. If that's the case, you can just exchange it on Amazon and get a different one.

used SB8200 under $70 [ebay.com] now on Ebay with 30 day protection. Amazon overpriced on modems for last years.

I have two stories house I need those tv's wired and not Wi-Fi for better speed. I also don't want to run multiple routers around the house. The modem are right under under the tv. It just don't make sense that I have to wired the tv to the router where this modem are just right there under my tv.

Well, I'll get another year at least, it's been a GREAT ride! I'm locking in another year in March, $49.99/month for 300 mBps..
Most likely will be data caps around summer 2023 for Spectrum since merger agreement ends in May. So doubt will get another year.

Fwiw I bought one of these from Amazon warehouse in "like new" condition and got the correct box but a completely used and ancient modem inside.

I just said that I lock in for a year in March, so of course I will get another year..
March is before May and Summer NO?
Locking in contract is just for set price on service not the extras or data. Xfinity did same thing when they released data caps people was stuck and had to pay ETF or Unlimited Data cost.
