I recently watched video from an experienced guitar amp technican mentioning EVH 5150s have poor design and build qualitiy. Does anyone owns EVH 5150 wanna tell their stories?

He says it's hard to access the board for minor repairs. They are on a pcb as no amp will be hand wired at this price point. Mine sounds great so I don't really think what if it breaks.

Anybody knows the difference between the EVH Iconic 412 and the EVH 5150 III 4x12 cabinets?…seem to have the same custom Celestion speakers

That guy is knowledgeable, but is critical of just about every amp he tears apart.

I wouldn't worry about any of the EVH amps - I can't think of any in particular that have had a rash of reported issues.

the budget iconic line uses mdf, the 5150 iii is 7-ply 5/8" birch pine

Didn't watch the video, but I know that the plate voltage is set fairly high on these so they eat tubes like crazy

That said, I purchased a 6l6 50w last deal and it was a super nice amp for the money. Decent cleans...ch2 was amaizing....ch3 was basically useless imo
