If storage/capacity is your concern and you have a large collection and care more about that (than the looks), I highly recommend the Atlantic Maxsteel shelves. These come as tall as 12-tiers (about 7 feet tall?) and hold about 500 blu-ray style cases per shelf. The issue with the wooden ones in OP are that they tend to be limited in height (so they don't fall over!) and if space is limited, they'll keep you from putting your full collection into a room. If you don't mind losing the wallspace, the steel shelves will go just below ceiling height in a normal 8 foot tall apartment/house and let you maximize the space

They are more expensive but looks way better made. Only thing I don't like about metal shelves is you can't put just anything on them. I have seem people out plastic over top and then can put smaller items on and it wont fall through.
