Still have my Sorels from the early 90's going strong. I'm guessing they don't make them like that anymore, but still a great brand.

From my experience, Sorel's boots are now all Made in China garbage. My pair of Sorel Conquests lasted two years before they began separating at the seams and then the rubber cracked and came off in chunks as if dry-rotted. I replaced those with vintage Made in Canada Sorels from ebay for $30 and couldn't be happier. It's a shame what's happened to this once great brand.

Columbia bought the trademark... These aren't the Sorels of the 90's any more, unfortunately

Exactly. I have a 30-year old pair made by Kaufmann in Canada that are almost as good as the day I bought them; no holes, no breakdowns, just not as pretty.

Columbia bought the trademark in a bankruptcy fire sale. These are Sorels in name only.

Better choices like #1 Kamik; just ensure the product is made in Canada (or the US), as companies farm out some models to Asia: https://cansumer.ca/boot-brands-canada/

Hmm... I bought the slippers on Feb. 18th and was charged $44.98. Just got an email from paypal saying Sorel just adjusted my payment to $48.69. How can they do that without my confirmation? 🤔

Because it's scummy Paypal. They are not governed by banking regulations.
