also be aware that you need to drill an extra hole for this type of door handle. personally if you want something like this buy from a better brand not some defiant junk.
Much better.
I mean if you want to trash the deal because of quality, I get it. But to claim this will make your home less secure is stupid, because it was never meant to do that.

as for your question. its often a 2 part lock system.
so you use this, and then buy another dead bolt lock that installs separately on top. why? its often the best because you get the design you want, and the security you need from the deadbolt lock you want. these often don't have the best deadlock mechanisms at this price point, its focused on design aesthetics.
I just got 16 years out of a $200 Baldwin solid brass. Finish still looks new. Cheap replacement parts available to repair the mechanicals back to new state.

I purchased the Castle a few weeks ago at this price to go with a keypad deadbolt I'd purchased. Seems pretty solid.
