I have a LG 27UK650 monitor. It started bleeding in all 4 corners right after the warranty ended. This seems to be a known issue for this type of LG monitors. Contracted LG customer service and terrible experience dealing with them. Not worth wasting the time.
Last time the UP600 was on sale at Best Buy for $189.99, nobody cared and suddenly this outdated and worse model is upvoted ?

Nothing makes sense.
Looks like a great deal to me, surprised not more love.

I have 3 of the LG 27UP600 and no issues thus far. Great 4k Picture.

What size are you looking to get? I was confused as well when I got a MacBook from my new job. My old Dell monitor was 22 inches I think, and had a resolution of like 1600x1200. The problem I encountered with it was that text appeared fuzzy. Looked great on Windows, though. Apparently had something to do with recent MacOS versions not playing well with lower ppi monitors.

Reading around on the mac subreddits and this guide (https://bjango.com/articles/macex...displays2/) I ended up getting the LG 24" 4K and usually scale it to 1080. Sometimes to QHD if I need more room. In the Mac world integer scaling seems to work best. It's a little short from being "retina" but good enough for me to work and have it look reasonably clear.

My boss has a 27" 4K with his MacBook and it looked pretty good too. Think he scales to QHD.

Of course, you might not a difference if you have a 27 QHD display. I have to use the built in laptop display as my second screen (yay basic M1 laptops only supporting one external monitor) and it really made looking at the old Dell monitor annoying.
This is no longer a problem with the new macOS

Good luck finding a 4k monitor at 144 hz at the $200 price range. This isn't for gaming , it's for productivity

Underrated post. There is almost no need for this ppi for like 99% of users. The number of TU on this post makes me think there are a bunch of people sitting too close to their monitors.
While video and images look pretty similar, Text is noticeably different on 4k vs 2k on 28 monitor

MacOS Ventura now looks good on low ppi monitors?

I would be amazed if Apple actually went backwards and returned functionality they dropped several years ago. Then again they did put more ports on the M1/M2 Pro laptops.

I thought the meta or common knowledge was that store based credit cards are universally a bad deal? Has something changed? Was I always wrong?
You're right, but payboo's savings on tax can save you up to 10% on the final price due to some state's high taxes making it more appealing than the typical store card that saves you 5%.

It's not a "free card" like Target's red card which you can get without a credit check. So only get it if it makes sense for you. I've had a few store cards get closed on me due to disuse which is especially annoying.

Been wanting a new monitor for a while. How much horsepower is needed to run smoothly at 4k? I would be using it as an external monitor for my 2019 HP Omen laptop (i5, 16GB RAM, 1650 graphics card). I don't do a ton of heavy gaming... played Doom Eternal just fine on an ancient 22" with some oddball 1680x1050 res.

Would it be stupid to get a 4k UHD monitor? Or should I try to find a QHD?

If it's for PC gaming, def pass on 4K. You won't be able to drive the frame rates, and will probably wind up rendering @ 1440 or so anyway. 4K at this size is largely just for productivity work (great text clarity) and being able to play 4K media at native resolution.

I'm shopping for a 27" 4K HDR monitor for playing PS5 and streaming media.

Its higher-end (slightly) successor, LG 27UP600-W.AUM, is also on sale at Best Buy for $199.99.

I bought one of these at a reduced price from Amazon Warehouse (for $167.82 not including tax). Although, it did come in its original box which shown signs of damage, the monitor was fully well intact and didn't have missing pixels like the item's description mentioned. For what you get, this monitor is well worth it at $197.

This monitor is well worth it for office tasks which is what I'm using mine for (as well as a 2ndary monitor for a dual setup). Plus, compared to the ancient monitor you were referencing, you get a ton more screen real estate due to the higher resolution its pushing and by getting a 4K monitor rather than 1440p w/ similar specs aside from resolution, you're future proofing.

Is this deal better than the Dell S2721QS @ Amazon for $ 249?

For $50 more, you get a fully adjustable stand and a slightly brighter screen (350 vs 300), that's the only difference. Is that worth $50 to you? It would be to me.
