Nothing makes sense.
I have 3 of the LG 27UP600 and no issues thus far. Great 4k Picture.

My boss has a 27" 4K with his MacBook and it looked pretty good too. Think he scales to QHD.
Of course, you might not a difference if you have a 27 QHD display. I have to use the built in laptop display as my second screen (yay basic M1 laptops only supporting one external monitor) and it really made looking at the old Dell monitor annoying.
Why is that?
MacOS Ventura now looks good on low ppi monitors?
I would be amazed if Apple actually went backwards and returned functionality they dropped several years ago. Then again they did put more ports on the M1/M2 Pro laptops.
I thought the meta or common knowledge was that store based credit cards are universally a bad deal? Has something changed? Was I always wrong?
It's not a "free card" like Target's red card which you can get without a credit check. So only get it if it makes sense for you. I've had a few store cards get closed on me due to disuse which is especially annoying.

Would it be stupid to get a 4k UHD monitor? Or should I try to find a QHD?

If it's for PC gaming, def pass on 4K. You won't be able to drive the frame rates, and will probably wind up rendering @ 1440 or so anyway. 4K at this size is largely just for productivity work (great text clarity) and being able to play 4K media at native resolution.
I'm shopping for a 27" 4K HDR monitor for playing PS5 and streaming media.

For $50 more, you get a fully adjustable stand and a slightly brighter screen (350 vs 300), that's the only difference. Is that worth $50 to you? It would be to me.
