It's an IPS monitor, it's more geared to color accuracy than refresh rates.

If you're looking for a "gaming" monitor this isn't it.
I'm not a monitor expert by any means but this seems like a really good deal for a basic IPS, non gaming 4k monitor no?
Definitely a good IPS, non-gaming 4k monitor, at a price not seen much in a few years.

FYI, not surprisingly:

2 x HDMI
1 x DisplayPort
AMDfreeSync
VESA Mount 100x100
HDR10 (which you'll want to turn off for day to day and it will likely require some calibration.

Main down side sounds like the stand is a little wobbly, but that's not an issue if you plan to mount it.

Anyone have a recommendation for a gaming monitor that is also good for video/photo editing? I wasn't sure if 4K was absolutely needed for it.

Depends on what kind of games u play and how serious of yr video photo editing. In general, buying 2 separate monitors would be better if u hv enough table space. Can 1 monitor be best for both? Yes, usually more expensive than 2 monitors though.

I bought this last week when it was the same price ($200). I'm using it as a second monitor to watch streams and movies. Text is very clear, colors are good. Build quality is middle of the road.

For a second monitor, I don't think you'll find a better monitor for the price. I would recommend!

Depends on your refresh rate needs. I've grown up playing 95% of my time on consoles.

60hz is plenty for me, but everyone has their own needs. If you do need only 60 hz, I highly recommend this monitor. Bought it open box from best buy last week. Played Lies of P on it and it looked great

Yeah if you play lots of single player games this is a really nice monitor. If you play eSports you probably need to spend more money or go for lower resolution monitor so you can get higher refresh

I'm looking for a 27" 4k for a MacBook Air laptop with a broken screen. I would really prefer USB-C. Obviously at this price, I can't expect that. But, what do we think Black Friday will have in store for 4k 27" monitors? USB-C like this one for $250? Can't decide if I should grab this, or wait for BF.

One thing to note about (nearly) all LG monitors: they do not auto select inputs which is a real PITA if you regularly, or ever, use more than one computer with it. I bought a Dell to replace an LG 32" 4k monitor for this very reason. I got sick of constantly going into the menu. Might sound silly, but it's a factor. Otherwise, LG makes great monitors.

Personally, I'd like to experience over 60Hz. Unfortunately, it looks like 4k and over 60Hz is hard to attain without breaking the bank.

Basically slightly weak stand, lack of pd charging and lack of USB C. UK line was a great model year. My current setup.
