I own both. My Amazon puffer is nylon fill with a hood. The Amazon Essentials one is slightly better quality, and you'll probably have a few loose threads on the 32 Degrees, but the 32 Degrees one is quite a bit warmer due to the Down fill. The 32 Degrees one also packs down to nearly half the size, likely due to the Down. The Amazon one uses YKK zippers and the 32 Degrees does not, but I haven't had a problem with any of them jamming or coming apart.

It is nice to have a hood though, this 32 Degrees one doesn't have one.

I tend to daily the Amazon one and use the 32 degrees one when I need a teeny one to go in a backpack

I've had 2 quality issues with other 32degree products, both times I e-mailed them letting them know and sending a picture of the damaged item. Within a day they shipped me a new item completely free, without asking for me to return the damaged one. Excellent customer service from 32degrees from my experience. Last time was a round a year ago so it's possible something has changed

Good products thought some of them you can get at Costco too. Some of these are used as a layers to be put under other jackets or clothes you have.

I bought the mens and womens down coats and they're pretty decent for the price.

They're not as high quality as something from patagonia or llbeans but it's actual quality down (90% down 10% feathers). It's super light, packs compact if you need to, and is really warm for the weight ratio. Remember that it's a light down jacket but warm for this category.

How's the sizing on these? It seems that with 32 Degrees, one should go one size down? Model is 6'2" and is wearing a Medium.

Depends on chest.

Med is only 38 to 40 inch.

Model looks slight.

If you workout keep this in mind.

For anyone who has tried both, how does the quality of this compare to the Amazon Essentials puffer?

If it's not too much trouble, would you be able to post a picture of both packed up?

I normally wear medium and went with a large after reading reviews. If I'm wearing a t-shirt, large is a bit roomier than I'd prefer, but perfect for layering. I believe medium would've been too snug for layering. 5'11" 175ish.

I bought one of these last year. WORTH. EVERY. CENT.

I'm 5'10", 150 and got the medium; I'm slight (cyclist) build so I'm kinda skinny up top. The Medium fits well but I could have easily gone with a small and been very happy. Had I not got in on that Spyder down I'd buy another one in a heartbeat in a small.

It packs pretty well, and is surprisingly warm for a freeze baby like myself. Not windproof by any means, and not go skiing in it insulated, but it is still a VERY warm jacket and if you throw a reasonable base layer underneath, totally fine for day to day wear. The fabric is more of the scratchy type which I'm not a fan of, but it will hold up better to wear than the Spyder that feels great but seems prone to injury.

For $25, this is a hell of a deal.

I am 5' 9", around 195 lbs. and the large is perfect for me (typical dad-bod frame). I lose some of the tiniest down out of the baffle stitching on this coat, but a quick pass with a lint roller and it's good. One thing I don't like is that the ribbing at the cuff isn't substantial, so my shirt sleeves often stick out and look goofy.

I also have the poly-fill packable jacket. It's thinner and hasn't held up as well. Same issue with the cuffs.

For those who want a hood, there are these:
Poly-fill: https://www.32degrees.com/product...fer-jacket
Sherpa-lined: https://www.32degrees.com/product...ned-jacket

I had the poly-fill with hood and liked it. The hood was detachable. It went in to the washing machine... and didn't survive (rip across the back). Hand-wash your puffers, folks.

Fill power ratings can be deceiving. It doesn't tell you the amount of that fill. The jacket didn't have much fill in it which was a disappointment.

You get what you pay for in this case.
