Agreed. 1 TB non upgradable SSD in a $2600 laptop is absolutely ridiculous when you can buy 2TB NVMe SSDs for close to $100 these days, and even some 4TB ones for $200. Gen 4 are a bit more, but a fast Gen 3 is more than enough for me in a laptop.
If you're not using Apple-specific programs and media stuff, is this worth the money?
What is your use going to be?
People who blatantly say "no it's not worth it" right off the bat kinda baffle me. Obviously if all you're looking for is something to browse facebook and watch youtube on, this isn't the machine for you.
But if you do any sort of actual CPU/GPU intensive work, this thing is an absolute beast.

Comments like the one you responded to are what made me want to comment at all.
Everyone knows that apple costs more, so why is that constantly rehashed in these threads? Yes, they fark you over ram upgrades, etc. The simple answer is just don't buy it. The form factor and os appeal to a number of people.
If you want value per gig of ram or disc space and don't enjoy what apple offers (for significant upcharge), of course there is no need for it.
I just want to understand why someone posts that stuff in seemingly every one of these.
