This my friend. It is a really
Good scotch. I actually bought and put it out with my MacAllan 12 and 18, also blue label and compare it all. Obviously not as good as the MacAllan 18 but smoother than MacAllan 12. It was different taste than the blue but still smoother and kinda sweeter. You won't be disappoint with it.

Btw, I only drink single malts as they are supposed to be drink, straight or with cube of iced. Chilled.

For a 68 bottle, it is a really good scotch.

I live in PA and Costco doesn't sell hard alcohol. When we visit DC I stock up and bring it back. Couple cases of wine and spirits. That's what's up.

My store in n texas has a liquor store attached to it, anyway to find out if they have it?
Call them. I've never had issues with Costco NOT giving out prices/stock over the phone.

Some states require club stores to sell certain items to the public, like booze. In these states the booze is typically sold in a separate section of the club where you don't need a membership to enter. These are the states:

Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Texas, or Vermont.

I'm no expert but:
This is new and 46% / 92 proof. All the reviews I see are the 40% / 80 proof which is discontinued. I bought a bottle 3 days ago. I am not going to describe how it is flowery, citrus with a light malt 'cause that sounds like BS.
I like it a lot and will buy another when it is gone.

As a gift? Its a really nice 18 year old with absolutely no prestige at all. A whiskey drinker will admire it, a poser will get hung up on the label.

Was going to say this. Someone that's open to trying different things or knows how good this is will appreciate it, but there are those people who are all about names and labels. Not sure if I'd gift a bottle of this because of that reason.

This stuff is pretty good but my neighbor and I prefer 18 year Dewars. Costco has it for $43 on sale sometimes. Pretty much the best we have had under $200.
Really? Would have never guessed a grain alcohol would beat single malt.

You know scotch doesn't age after it's taken out of the cask, right? It's not like wine.

Once it's in the bottle, it stays whatever age it was when taken out of the cask.

A 10 year aged bottle from 1902 is still a 10 year aged bottle in 2023.

For whisky basics, it's difficult to compare the different whisky regions as the regions will offer different tasting notes. Oban is Highland which will offer more of a dried fruit and some smokiness, Lagavulin is Islay and known for full body, smoke and very peaty. This Kirkland 18-year is Speyside which is more on the vanilla and honey tones with hints of fresh fruits and some peatiness.

The Kirkland 18 year is worth trying at this price point. Sounds like you're more in the peatiness though. You may like Ardbeg, Talisker, Laphroiag,Bowmore and Peat Monster (this one is interesting) if you haven't had those. Not sure of the price points.
I like Lagavulin 16 a lot. Its price is not that bad either
