About this deal:
This price is $22lower (55% savings) than the list price of $39.99 and marks the lowest this digital title has ever been on sale.
I bought this game a few years ago on a recommendation. It is weird, all over the place, and confusing. Saying that, I enjoyed it and got the Platinum trophy. I do recommend it thoroughly as it kept my attention for a long time.
One of my favorite games ever, I think if you don't understand or like existential philosophy then much of this game will be lost on you. The gameplay on its own is quite engaging.

30+ hour game if a completionist and pretty much lowest price for digital to date. I played about 10 hours and something else came up and haven't been back to so time to revisit.
I have the non game of the year version and the dlc what is the difference? Are the two versions patched to the same level or is there an actual difference?
I have it and I don't understand the gushing love this game gets on the internet. It is so kooky and odd, but it just felt like a grind to me. I think I'm halfway in and just got tired of it. Yeah yeah sexy android lady and all but still.
GFR loved it too. I enjoyed this video of them playing it more than I enjoyed playing it.

I bought this game and enjoyed the gameplay generally, but found it a little simple and repetitive. I didn't really understand most of the story or the characters. The music is 10/10 all the way through.
That said, after finishing it, I watched this video[youtube.com] and it opened my eyes to the beauty of the story and characters, and what the game was telling me. I think it is required watching, but only after you've finished the game.

The game play part is just like all platinum games (e.g. Bayonetta), it was a giant upgrade from the first nier game (which very few played), but honestly wasn't that outstanding even at the release. The game philosophy, however, is on a different level altogether.

I also don't understand the gushing praise this game gets. I found it way too simple and downright boring. Battle system lacked complexity. Wanted to like it but there are much better games in the genre imo

OTOH I am a crotchedy old gamer man now.... get off my lawn you damn kids!
I felt this way until I got to the first "ending" which was underwhelming. The 2nd and especially the third chapters/playthroughs are what ultimately got me.
