I bought the 3 pack a few weeks ago from Woot. The cameras looked almost new when they arrived but I quickly saw a nick in the attached cord of one camera that showed exposed wire. Whoot kindly refunded me for the camera. The second camera had some hiccups installing but I wasn't concerned till about a week later when it disconnected, wouldn't reinstall, and was repeating "Ready to connect" in a strange quick succession. Woot sent me a 3-pack replacement and instructions to return the originals. The new 3 pack looked a little worse for the wear. Two of the camera had fogging or fingerprints in the camera lens that could be seen from the outside but not cleaned. Honestly, I've never had a problem with other Woot refurbished items and have many Wyze cameras but I don't think I'll buy Wyze from them again unless new.

If you have a machine that can run Docker, use the mrlt8 / docker-wyze-bridge container and it'll act as a logged-in conduit for you to then forward on to any NVR you'd like.

It's ridiculous it takes a 3rd party workaround like that, but Wyze fanboys will defend them until the end. Reality is, the devices are so cheap for a reason. They're banking on a sizable amount of users paying for Wyze Plus or whatever,.

Wyze removed their old beta firmware that supported RTSP from their website. They mention it was in beta and not going to be updated. I used the following on a V3 to get RTSP working: https://github.com/gtxaspec/wz_mini_hacks but it was a pita as I said. On a V2 I could not get it to work.

I'm really looking for a camera that has built in RTSP support. You can hack the wyze cameras to do that, but it is a pita.

I thought the V3s worked with RTSP? Firmware is out there. Is that what you mean by hack?

I have a feeling they're clearing out V3s even though it's a great cam because a) it's the last camera that works with the free version of the CamPlus software and they want them gone, and b) they probably get another batch subscribers to the paid subs, even though these work with Lite.

No RTSP/ONVIF, so locked to Wyse's ecosystem
So Wyze cams use Wyze's ecosystem? Like they always have? Huh.

I own a v3, a v2, and a garage opener. Especially the garage opener is very handy.

Would this work with Synology Surveillance Station? I see others mentioned it might be a PITA?

I have one of the older ones can't remember what version, a V3 and the new OG and when they say the new OG is snappy they weren't kidding it loads so much faster for live view than any other wyze cam I have. Definitely a good buy at regular price of $20 right now (heard it might go up). The OG also has a cleaner, sharper image over my other cam (can't remember if it's a V3 or an older one, but I believe it's a V3). I have the OG sitting right on top of my older one and it's a clear difference. now I just need to rearrange my cameras around and figure out which ones are better for each spot. they arent too bad but wish it had a central storage option like Blink cameras.
