Some people's PC's may not support NVME drives, or like me, both their m.2 slots couple be full. They still have their uses. Also, for the vast majority of use cases, there's no noticeable difference in speed between a SAaLTA drive and even a gen 5 NVME.

I just spoke to their CS and got a price refund of the difference.

Regarding m.2 vs sata ssd, I've noticed that there is a difference with how hot the unit gets. My sata ssd sits around 24c vs my m.2 which is around 47c. The m.2 is getting heat soak from the cpu and gpu, whereas my sata is tucked away from that in it's own cage.

yup...

samsung warranty is actually pretty awesome when it comes to drives.. I've used them twice over the 5 years, on NVMe drives that failed during the warranty period. They just ship back new drives as replacements.

kind of odd you would get from samsung when m.2 drives are practically matching sata ssds prices then you order from manufacturer so you probably can't return as easily as from retailer

Expensive the Teamgroup 1TB is $42. Why is Samsung gouging consumers especially when there is a massive oversupply of DRAM and NAND memory right now?

Samsung Warranty > TeamGroup Warranty

Unless something has changed, I recall there were earlier postings saying that you need to ship the drive to Taiwan for warrantyt repair with Teamgroup? If this is still true then the cost of shipping is gonna end up the same (if not more) than the drive itself.

Glad that worked out for you. I was going to suggest to get price adjustment. I've had positive results, when dealing with the Samsung CS reps.

I've purchased this enclosure for a couple drives and have had no problems with it. I had paid the original $15 and it looks like the price is now only a little over $12.

Just going to throw out there that my nvme 970 evo died within 1 year, exactly Dec 13 to Dec 13. Samsung took 2 weeks to return a brand new nvme. However, my 870 2.5 has been running for 4 years without a problem. I recommend the 870 for Long storage and then an HDD for very long storage.
