Hikvision and Dahua are the true manufacturers for A LOT of cameras, including those by major "US" brands like Lorex
Full disclosure, I have Lorex cameras (Dahua) and I keep them on their own VLAN with ZERO access to the internet. They can get NTP and DNS, that's it. I only allow DNS so I can see what they're trying to get to, but any attempt to get to those IPs is blocked.
