Anyone have any familiarity with this brand, Sannce? Their NVR offerings starting at $99 (no storage drive) do look intriguing.

Where did you find Ethernet connection? I see no sign of it in the description or pictures.

It's a WiFi camera. Check this bundle it says there is 1 WiFi camera https://www.sannce.com/collection...6320361755

Personally I wouldn't trust this device and put it on my home network.

2k is a very low resolution for 180fov even 4k wouldn't be enough, i would use it only as a motion detector

Probably sending info to China, as most of these no-name products.

Sannce has the worst software. Their NVR that I received was so buggy that it destroys your wifi and internet connection with no updates to fix it. Don't know if it'll work with other systems.

Don't be sensational, unless the manufacturer/vendor does not want to keep their business in the United States. Doing so can easily be detected by network monitoring systems. It's 10,000 times easier than monitoring phone calls which has been handle as routine by US Federal.

Really not that sensational

Hikvision and Dahua are the true manufacturers for A LOT of cameras, including those by major "US" brands like Lorex

Full disclosure, I have Lorex cameras (Dahua) and I keep them on their own VLAN with ZERO access to the internet. They can get NTP and DNS, that's it. I only allow DNS so I can see what they're trying to get to, but any attempt to get to those IPs is blocked.

The article did not present any substantive evidence other than repeatedly stating that the two companies were affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party (do not if it is true though). Like I said above, if they had actual evidence of the data transfer, would they publish it? In fact, it seems just a false allegation. don't be fooled

Yes, I'm sure the governments of 3 large western nations with huge intelligence and counter-intelligence budgets just decided to throw away gear they've already paid for on a whim Rolleyes
