I got this vacuum a few months ago and my wife absolutely loves it! So much better than our previous cordless vacuums.

How does this compare to the animal version? They have so many and it makes it confusing.

They all are very similar. This one is slightly heavier, has slightly less suction and bit cheaper.

I have an ancient "animal" version that I bought as a refurb from Amazon & it's a beast. Very heavy but still going strong. I received a lightweight ball version like this and it feels like a toy. The brush bar stopped rotating within a year. 🙁

Contact Dyson. My Dyson stopped working after 2 years and getting it fixed with Dyson was super easy. FedEx pickup and dropped after fixing

It's such a great deal, too bad I have a housekeeper.
We just call it "the bank" but I feel you. Better than a landlord.

Get a robovacuum, eliminated the need for sweeping at my house. Maybe get a dedicated vacuum to do a deep cleaning once in a while

Bought this from Sam's when it was on sale for this same price. Totally worth it and this thing has serious suction compared to the old, upright Shark I replaced it with. Happy with my purchase after 6 months. For $200, this vacuum is a solid buy, in my opinion. Only complaint is the wand is odd to remove and put back. I seriously had to watch a YouTube video to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong and going to break it.

We bought this last time it was on sale. Loved it for about 3 uses, then the suction doesnt seem to work. After turning it on, it will suck a few seconds then it like "bypasses" the sucking air and no longer works. I have taken it apart, cleaned everything and it still does it. Pretty bummed on it....can someone tell me what im doing wrong? Thanks

I have a similar model called Dyson Big Ball, I got it about 5 years ago. I am a single male with no pets or kids.
It's very good when it's working, however something in the turbines or somewhere up in that part constantly gets clogged, nearly every time I use it. Sometimes multiple times in a use. In order to unclog it, per Dyson phone rep, I need to put the turbine assembly over a trash can and hit/bang it a bit. Then I put it back on the vaccum and it works great again until the next time I use it, when it will inevitably and mysteriously clog again.
I have reported this many times to Dyson. Eventually, they sent me a new turbine assembly under warranty in case maybe there was something wrong with the old one. The new one continues to do the exact same thing. I am at wits end. I spent too much money on this thing to just trash it, and it does work really great when it's not clogged.
I think this summer I will take the old turbine assembly and try to wash it out good with water and wait for it to dry and see if that helps.

I have a shark navigator deluxe vacuum for 8 years and i like it, should I upgrade to Dyson?
People said shark has better suction, while Dyson just have better marketing schemes, any suggestions?

This sounds like what happens to mine, which I describe in a reply below your original reply. If it's the same thing, what works for me is taking the dirt bin off the canister assembly, and taking the canister assembly to a trash can and banging it out over the trash can to get anything that's stuck inside out. Bang/hit it pretty hard several times over the trash (but don't break it!). Then try to put the dirt bin back on and try to use it again and see if it works.

I had a Navigator lift away and bought this Dyson a few months back. The shark was a good vacuum and I didn't need a new one but wanted to compare vs a Dyson. For me, the Dyson has much better suction as it seems to get more dust, dirt, and dander. The only con I've found with the Dyson is the automatic height adjustment. If you have area rugs, it will bog down on some of them and not work as you cannot adjust the suction like you can on a shark. Overall though I'm happy with it and gave my shark away.
