You certainly sound "young" considering plenty of young adults in their 30's and especially in their 40's need to watch their blood pressure for a variety of reasons. reasons that "red wine" won't fix. kindly stop being ignorant.

I do this for a living. Best advice: watch out for your salt intake. This is the underlining problem in most hypertension.

$45.26 total after clipped coupon and code. $10 cashback brings it down to 35.26. Paying with FSA is pre tax money, so let's say ~30% saved there so total ends up being around $24.68. Could be more or less based on your income tax etc. but on average they say fsa is about 30%. Very solid IMO

Thanks to this post I'm now wasting time going down the rabbit hole of researching different options of BP monitors. FWIW there are plenty of BP monitors on Amazon for around $20-$30 with good reviews.

Unfortunately for me it's family genetics. I don't remember the time my pressure was below 130/85, since the first time I tested when I 18 and I'm not overweight.

My doctor's office (Rochester regional health in NY) gave me a free, albeit older omron cuff when they diagnosed my hypertension; but this looks like a great deal if that's not an option. Check with your PCP to see if they can get you in a program for a free monitor!

Real question, why should I get this one vs the $15 one on Amazon with great reviews? I understand better this is wireless but I doubt my parents care about that.

Any device is fine but make sure it's from a reputable company. This one is.

Not trying to thread-Jack here, but any veterans using the VA system should talk to their primary care physician within the VA and ask for one of these to be given to them for free. The one they gave me is from LifeSource 50 bucks doesn't break the bank, but free is free and you can use any number of mobile apps to keep track of it to bring into them in case they want to see it.
