1. I don't know if this is a joke.
2. Now you can get Rembrandt e.g. 6800H boxes for around this price.

No genius. It was $550 when originally listed and the OP changed it to $580 in the post. My comment was correct at the time I made it.

Grr I bought the version of this with the lower powered CPU a few weeks ago I should have held out for this one (it was selling for $610 too which is really annoying the OP's link above has a faster processor AND costs less adding insult to injury)

https://www.newegg.com/pure-silve...6834360112

Anyways at the risk of annoying people by posting the same thing over and over again whenever an acer aspire laptop shows up for sale

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5...mm8&t=316s

crazy easy to upgrade .. the crucial MX500, 1 TB ssd drive is $51 on sale right now at amazon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQX3GNQLskU

that might be of help if you plan to upgrade the m2 "C/windows drive" to 1 TB in the future , the m2 drive sticks are also dropping in price right now although a lot of people (myself included) might argue best to just install that cheap 1 TB crucial MX500 drive in there and wait for m2 prices to drop even further then replace the m2 C/boot/windows drive.

16 GB should be plenty but I'm guessing this will support a maximum of 24 GB of ram so if you want

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1

$42 is pretty cheap but again there are people who would argue 16 GB is plenty and maybe wait and see if the ram price drops even further for that single stick of ram. On the other hand if you're interested in a ram upgrade less of a pain in the butt to just open the laptop up once and install everything at once.

I've heard lots of good things about macrium reflect free and would strongly suggest using it to make a backup of Windows periodically (easy enough if you install that crucial mx500 drive just back it up onto that) and also creating a usb bootable thumb drive using the macrium reflect program to get your laptop up and running again if necessary (a cheap usb 2.0 , 16 GB or bigger thumb drive will do it, you can snag a PNY one for $6 or for about $20 get five of them from amazon)

One last thing

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

on the advice of the youtuber I linked above I snagged these blue guitar picks and after upgrading two acer aspire laptops I've come to the conclusion they are absolutely worth the $8 purchase price and will serve you well for years to come if you're the type to upgrade laptops (a lot easier than a lot of people think it is) .. I made the mistake of using a small metal flat headed screwdriver on my first upgrade and was lucky enough not to damage any of the parts inside the laptop but still scratched the silver finish on the laptop which was annoying and I'd argue the plastic picks are a lot less risky.

my apologies I meant to say you can get a 5 pack of 32 GB , usb 2.0 speed drives for about $20 from amazon

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YZSX...ct_details

more than one would be good so you can create a recovery drive that, if I'm understanding correctly, will also store all the acer laptop specific drivers such that you can get the laptop up and running again to factory condition (condition you first bought it in).. good idea to have that plus the macrium reflect bootable drive (or if you have some other backup software like acronis or ease us todo or what not make a bootable usb drive for that instead)

https://community.acer.com/en/kb/...-usb-drive

I guess for four dollars less you could get the 5 pack of pny 16 GB drives instead but .. it's a four dollar difference in my opinion at that point might as well get the 32 GB pack and save the other drives as "giveaway drives" if you have some file you want to give to a friend in usb format for some reason or for other recovery drive type purposes

What is the difference between the Aspire 3 and 5 series? I sometimes see both with almost identical specs, but one is a "3" and one is a "5"

Hey there Smilie .. you know that's a great question, I looked up the AMD versions of both

https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptop...pire-3-amd

https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptop...pire-5-amd

and the difference between the two starts to get a bit fuzzy if you consider say the cheapest $379.99 model (A515-45-R1QD | NX.AUSAA.001 ) specs for amd ryzen 5 series vs the similarly priced $399.99 acer aspire 3 A315-24P-R75B | NX.KDEAA.001 ... I think the acer aspire 3 in that scenario actually has a slightly faster (??.... don't quote me on that Smilie ) processor but also a smaller hard drive

(it would make me nervous having a 128 GB drive though as I've mentioned in other threads it's easy to upgrade that C drive to a bigger one.. one way is to install that crucial MX500 1 TB as a secondary drive, which is perfectly fine for installing programs on btw as well as data storage, use the free version of Macrium Reflect to create a backup on the secondary drive you just installed, create a usb bootable drive of Macrium Reflect, install the new m2 drive and restore from the Macrium Reflect image you created .. or you can use the windows 11 recovery usb to reinstall the acer version of Windows onto the new m2 drive.. I would install macrium reflect and have both usb bootable drives made in advance to be on the safe side)
