I can put it further back under the desk. I have it about a finger length deep. This makes the headphones a bit more hidden, and less likely to be bumped. It gives it an overall nicer look.
It has this very nice swivel that seems like a gimmick, but once you use it, you kind of really love it... I can make the hook point in any direction. so if I want the headphones closer I just point the hook towards the outside of the table. It becomes nearly flush with the table at that point (about a cm or so in)
Honestly, I never thought I'd write a product review over a hook. So that says a lot.
This one only holds one headphone. I bought one, and it's really nice so I ended up buying a few more of these for the house.

I also have a clamp style for wife on SD was about $8 in Dec and that's going fine as well. Inflation be damned, hodl and wait for under $10!

I should add about my experience: I have two different types of under desk headphone holders and both put a noticeable "dent" in the top of the headphone after a couple of months. It could have been earlier, but I don't daily drive each one.

This is also something that would be to have fun with using a 3D Printer if only I had a 3d printer....
I did make sure to stick them on thoroughly, though and waited a day before putting on the headphones. I'm sure the surface that you put them on also matters. Make sure it's not dusty or anything. I didn't really prep the surfaces or anything though.
They do come with an extra sticker so I have 2 extra stickers for them... I don't think I'll need them unless I plan on moving a hook which is unlikely.
