I see it all the time, they are all the same. no matter where.
1 USB-A that came with a new ipad air 3rd gen
also had a couple bricks that came with iphones fail over the years along with countless lightning cables that failed.

Not discounting your experience but Ill just add that I think I have had one Apple charger fail over the years. And I've had a ton since we have a lot of devices and I accumulate lots of extras from order devices at work, etc..
They have a USB-A and USB-C port and go on sale for $16 often but regular price is always $20 with a 10% off coupon so it's not much more.
