While there are plenty of adapters for other batteries to be used on Ryobi tools, an adapter for Ryobi batteries to others would be really clunky because of the tall stem on the Ryobi battery.

If I were you, I'd just wait for a deal on one of the Ryobi lights:

I wonder if this means that the `R8695` is going to finally show up. I've seen it in one or two random bulk kits, but not on its own yet. Pretty sure everything else they announced last year has come out already (https://promotions.ridgidmail.com...ucts-2022/)

I still might bite, $20 and this version seems to get good reviews vs the Gen5x version that looks almost identical.

We have this. It's not a bad little flashlight for short distances. Wouldn't recommend as a far flinging searchlight, but close up it does a very nice job.

Does anyone know if there is a hack where I can get my Ryobi batteries to work on this?

Yes. You can search eBay for a Ryobi to Ridgid adapter.

I have it too, great light for up close work. Probably not the same application as above

Because you don't always have a battery on hand. Yes this thing sucks, but I end up using it all the time because I always know where there's a fully charged battery for it.

This would be so useful if it had higher output. It's basically just a regular ol flashlight
