I have this. For the price it's fine, though much better ratcheting screwdrivers are out there.

For once in a while usage it's fine, just has high back-drag.

Back drag! I was trying to think of what the term is for the friction to rachet back. Thank you! It can be irritating if it's too high.

I have this set somewhere. Might be worth it for the bits but put the ratchet in lock and never take it out. You look at this ratchet funny and it will bind up
and break.

If you want a better ratchet for your money, Klein tools sells something like this but durable.

Thanks OP - looks like a decent small set to just throw in the back of the car for those odd times you wish you had a screwdriver with you. Will give it a try.

This is exactly what I did when I bought mine, even though I paid a bit more at the time. It worked perfectly when I had to fix something on a rental car so I wouldn't get charged some crazy amount for something super easy to fix

If you dip any ratchet into some oil and wipe off the excess (it'll also leak out for a while), it'll improve the back-drag. Cheap ratchets usually come completely un-lubricated. If you think about metal teeth sliding against each other over tens of thousands of times in its lifetime, it makes sense that all ratchets should be lubricated.

I have two Husky stubby ratcheting screwdriver sets that looks suspiciously similar to this one. They are 10 years old or older and still work fine. We have one in the kitchen drawer and one in my wife's car. Convenient sets for very occasional use.

It's kind of stupid that this is an in-house brand for Walmart and they don't have the parts listed, or at least a picture of the back of the case (which lists everything)...
