Amount of VRAM matters only in that if there isn't enough performance suffers. The concern with these limited VRAM cards like the 4070 is that in a few years games will come out that exceed the 12 GB VRAM. At that point the card's performance tanks. Even though the GPU has the power to play the game, there isn't enough RAM. This can be seen in the hogwarts legacy game where at high settings the game exceeds 10 GB and formerly high end cards like the 3080 10 GB get beaten by a 3060 12 GB.
Price/performance doesnt scale linearly for high end GPUs and hasnt for a while.
So I got the 6800xt for $520 and if the 7900xt is 30% faster..... This would have to be around $700 for me to bite.

Same. still waiting for it to arrive too. 7xxx cards are going to drop quite a bit i think. Will see around the same price 6950xt is soon. Most gamers arent paying 1000 for a card. Only miners were ever willing to pay that.

Agreed, I'm just coming at this from a standpoint of a person that has never and will never pay MSRP for GPUs
....and its pathetic 12GB VRAM. We'll see if nvidia gets off their high horse and reduces the 4070ti soon.
