Xfinity Mobile Cell Phone Deals

29 10 March 1, 2023 at 02:31 AM
It seems that Xfinity Mobile and most cell phone providers offer money back on cell phones, but to new customers only.

I am currently with Xfinity Mobile and am looking for a new phone and would like to capitalize on the savings they offer for new customers.

I am looking to move my phone number to a new service provider temporarily and then returning to Xfinity Mobile to take advantage of a new customer phone deal. I have no problems with porting numbers in and out of Xfinity.

However, I am wondering if anyone has done this with Xfinity Mobile (or any other service provider)? I am curious if there is an amount of time I would need to be away from Xfinity Mobile to qualify as a new customer or any other restrictions.

I tried googling, but came up empty.

I've done this, but it was over years of being out before going back in. Sorry I can't be of much help there. If I recall correctly, I thought I read others say that they've done this with other companies and you just need 30-60 days out depending on the company.

On the other hand, I thought Xfinity Mobile sometimes had similar deals on phones for existing vs new port-ins. I see that they don't right now though. Could be only when new phones are introduced.

I currently switched to US Mobile for their 100-day free deal, which is also Verizon. You could go out to them and come back or stay. It's unlimited, and I think comparable price unless you only have the $15/month Xfinity plan. If you do have that plan, you could just port in a new line and get a new phone on that line, then switch SIM cards once you start getting the credits. This is supposed to work with no interruption in your credits. I've done this with other providers, and people on here have said they've done it with xfinity. But YMMV.

I personally just buy my phones as unlocked ones outright so I'm not stuck with a particular provider. I don't use much data though, so when I'm on Xfinity I just pick their $15 plan, and have multiple lines on that to park two old phone numbers. Otherwise, I find plans that are like $5 per month, but those have like no data. This way when you add up the cost of the phone and the plan, it's cheaper during that 2 to 3-year period that you're stuck with a provider.
