I have the Craftsman branded version of this. Specs are identical, build seems identical. I use it for finishing nailers (1 at a time) and it keeps up with them fine. Though it does have to recharge the tank every couple minutes. But frankly, that's about all it's useful for. It definitely doesn't have the umph to run an impact wrench, useless for airing up tires.

These systems are the opposite of quiet. Think shopvac but thumping at the same frequency. Usecase would be like a nail gun, used by a really cheap DIY handy man that couldn't afford spending slightly more for an actual name-brand unit.

I can't vouch for the quality or noise level of this particular unit, but small little compressors like this combined with a lightweight flexible hose are great for small air nailers.

Frank : It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

Jane : Goodyear?

Frank : No, the worst.

Casing and trim work using a nail gun. Also small building projects with nail guns

So a handyman who charges his customers reasonable prices instead of gouging them to be able to afford name brand tools.

FWIW I bought the 8 gallon Goodyear quiet compressor from a prior slickdeal.
It came with a broken regulator, and they all had rusting issues on the removable handle.
I called and support was stateside, the customer rep was personable and sent out the replacement parts no hassle. So it seems like they will honor their warranty if nothing else.

Ryobi 18ga nailer can be had for the same price as this and you don't have any cords or hoses.i don't see the point in this

Wasn't trying to defend the item, don't really care. Was just calling out the condescending comment.

Compared to a pnuematic nailer, that one is huge, heavy, and has an annoying pause after pulling the trigger. I'll take a quick nimble light and small air nailer over that despite the minor hassle of a hose.

Light duty garage/homeowner tasks. Inflating tires, blowing off stuff, small pneumatic tools, etc. With cordless tools replacing most air tools, many people don't have a need for high-cfm compressors unless they already have a large collection of pneumatic tools.

That's fine for occasional use, but it's bulkier, heavier, and much slower than a pneumatic (or a higher-quality cordless). It's also a single-purpose tool and can't inflate tires, which is probably the biggest use-case for a small garage compressor.
