I also picked this up on the Samsung EPP/EDU sale around BF that made this a lower price. This is still a good price. I do love the monitor but keep these things in mind:

It's a VA panel, but a good VA panel.

The response time is 4ms. Personally, I couldn't tell you that three-thousandths of a second make much difference for most gamers, but whatever.

HDR is trash on this monitor. Don't bother. SDR is excellent and very bright though.

It is not GSYNC compatible. If you're getting high enough FPS, it's no big deal anyway. Speaking of which, make sure you have a good enough GPU to handle high frame rates at this resolution. I'm on a 3090Ti FE and getting about 120-150 in COD with fairly high settings. GeForce experience settings optimizer is your friend if you're not experienced with this resolution.

It makes some plasticky popping sounds when the screen turns on and off. Samsung says this is normal because of the expansion and temperature change on such a massive screen.

If you do PBP (where you use two different inputs and split the screen) you cannot use any gaming settings, like low input lag, and you are limited to 100Hz. Literally just found that out today.

As someone mentioned above, some older games don't work well with this resolution. Some will say they support it, but menus are messed up. Almost all games from the last 5 years or so seem to work.

That's all I have right now. I'll update if I think of anything else that might be helpful.

Was <$700 pretax last October (or BF?) but still a good price! Got one last year and was one of my most satisfied purchase of the year

It's the crg9 and not the odyssey g9, right? I have seen the crg9 at Samsung for $650 most of this year on edu discount.

What is your set-up to use something this large? I game/work on a standard size desk not nearly deep enough for a monitor this wide. Do you have it on an entertainment stand like it was a TV?

I use it on a narrow desk, so it should fit on a normal desk. It's feet are wide from left to right but it's not any deeper than other monitors I have. If I went with a second, I would have to use a desk/wall mount to pick it up over the other monitor.

Sorry for noob question, does this natively (without software) get identified as 2 different monitors? I do a lot of screen sharing at work and don't want to share the whole 4k screen.. I am aware of sharing an app instead of a screen but that it would not help in my case.. TIA

This is the CRG9 I believe. The G9 has 240 refresh rate. Really similar monitors though

Yes, this is the CRG9 and not the Odyssey G9. The CRG9 is 120 Hz and has an 1800R curve radius. The Odyssey G9 is 240 Hz with a 1000R curve radius.

Here is a comparison between the two: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/to...shold=0.10

It is a single monitor. The G9 can do PbP, so you can down it to a 27" screen with one port and use another port as a secondary screen and place them aside by side. Not sure about the CRG9 since I don't have it, but I assume you could if you plug in two inputs to your PC and then do Picture by Picture on the monitor.

I picked this up on BF as someone else mentioned. I do enjoy it for working from home and even more in gaming. There are some games that aren't made for this size screen so they cut some of the top and bottom of the images off, borderlands 3 was a big one. Was thinking of picking up another to dual monitor these but may get something smaller due to the issue I mentioned. Although it's really awesome to have this much screen real estate.
You can easily change that in the scaling settings of the graphics card control panel.

The 240hz was cheaper. And the Neo is a lot better than this one which could soon go on sale for similar price.
This is too expensive tbh.

Misleading title -- this is the Costco version of the CRG9 at 120Hz and NOT the G9 with 240Hz.

Costco CRG9: LC49RG92SSNXZA

LG CRG9: LC49RG90SSNXZA

LG G9: LC49G97TSSNXDC (< $700 from last year's Samsung BF sales)

THIS NOT THE ODYSSEY G9. This shouldn't be upvoted or trending or a slick deal. This model isn't a deal at $800 imo. But the g9 is 240hz. Smh.

I own one and I love it... but get the neo. Local dimming on this is completely useless and needs to be turned off to even enjoy it, so it can't come close to competing with the contrast ratio of the neo. It's fine with local dimming turned off, but for this price paying a bit more for the neo when it's on sale is a no brainer
