This company is a fraud that sells deficient e bikes. Their customer service shut down their call center and refused to respond.

This company and their subsidiary JoyRide bikes should be banned from this site.

It makes sense since the reviews are bad and most Schwinn Ebikes are poorly reviewed. Hurley sells clothing mostly, so they're rebranded. I was doing a lot of ebike research with the intent of buying one and it looks like around $1,200 more of the decent ebikes come on the market. I just would want one with a standard level of customer service and warranty.

I think they're all 36V. 250W and 350W motors are ok for flat pavement. I have a 500w Bafang hub motor and it's about as small as I would recommend. But at these prices, it may be a good spot to try out. Just tighten all your bolts and use some thread locker.

I agree with one exception. Looks like the cheapest bike has rim brakes. I wouldn't recommend an ebike that doesn't have disc brakes, even if lower wattage rating. Yes a non ebike can go 20+mph and also often use rim brakes, however ebike brakes tend to get more abuse and use, e.g. using motor on flat surface to get to 20mph then braking, vs whatever speed you get to under your own pedaling power, and repeating. You will almost always hit higher speeds with a motor consistently, putting a lot more stress and heat on your brakes, and rim brakes wear down faster from my experience.

Have bought 2 of the Hurley Amped ST bikes since the first of the year. They seem to be Ok, everything works on them. Quality is better than what I was expecting at this low price. Can't say much about longevity, have only ridden them a couple times due to cold temperatures here in the Northeast.
I Plan on taking them to a bike shop for a safety check and to look them over.

I've had good experience with ride1up for what that's worth. In fact I liked my wife's Cafe Cruiser so much I ordered their mid-drive bike for myself. I had an issue with the battery latch (I dropped the battery and the latch broke) and they replaced it no questions asked. Check them out.
