These Xbox controller are a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen. My last one was failing within a month. The one before, three-months until degradation.

My PS2 controllers still work pretty well after nearly two decades.

Speaking from experience if they're offering a warranty take it. I play a lot of Rocket League. The plastic in bumbers break over time and drift creeps in eventually. I have a graveyard of these controllers. I use the warranty to either buy new controllers if they are on sale so I can repeat the process or purchase extra bumbers and repair them myself. That's been my plan with these devices.

I own both an Xbox Series X and a PS5 and have owned the Xbox and PS of each generation. None of the controllers are made as well as they used to. This isn't just an Xbox thing. I've had just as many issues with the PS controllers. They all eventually get stick drift and sticky buttons.

If your controller is failing within a month, that sounds like an issue with you. My controllers get used daily and I've never had one experience issues in less than 6 months. I suggest getting the warranty when you buy a controller if you're that hard on it.

FYI, stick drift can be fixed cheaply if you're willing to take the controller apart. There are a lot of YT videos that show exactly what to do.
