If you're willing to spend a little more, you can get a 5060MT with i5-8600 [dellrefurbished.com], 256GB SSD and Windows 10 home for $200 after code YES2DELL5060. This one is officially supported by Windows 11. And it would probably make a decent entry-level gaming system with the addition of an appropriate video card. The SFF PCs aren't really suitable for gaming since there are few good half-height video cards.

Anyone interested in these should look on eBay for used Dell/HP because there are much better deals there. Been trying to sell a HP 800 elite G3 with a i7 and Nvme Samsung 980 512 with licensed 10 pro at $144 for weeks now. Also buying the sff and putting a 6400 init is questionable, that card is fairly week and still $140 used. A $100-150 tower/workstation (that has space a a larger factory psu) with whatever $100 card (like a 1660ti) would blow away the 6400.

Well, right now there is nothing worth buying - I suggest you to get at least 8th generation and 16GB when on sale for 50% off. Around Black Friday I've got 7060 ultra small with i7 and 16GB RAM , 500GB SSD for $180 incl. CA taxes. It came brand new with keyboard and mouse, it has WiFi and HDMI linked to 4K OLED at the moment. Looks and works fantastic, very very slick deal for a ultra small streaming HTPC

Not without an additional graphics card.

ETA: Actually, I stand corrected. The 5050SFF has two DP ports plus an HDMI port, so you should be able to connect three screens. Whether they can handle 3x4k, I don't know.

The MFF only has two total video ports.

Anyone know how much power something like this would typically draw with say 4 HDs vs an equivalent NAS? The Pogoplug DIY setup I have now only hits somewhere around 10MB/s. I'd love something faster but can't get myself to pull the trigger on a NAS since they seem to cost more than a PC like this.... need to consider operational cost over time though...

Depends on which one you choose vs what the NAS is running. I haven't tested this, but I can tell you that ignoring the hard drive consumption (which would be the same on any platform), I tested an idling 9020 SFF with an i5 and got about 25 watts. Figure these will be similar or a little lower.

You can build a NAS with a Raspberry Pi if you want, and many canned NASes use Intel Atoms to really keep their power consumption at a minimum. However, it's worth noting that many of them are designed to run at the limit in normal operation, so if you're planning on running some additional processes that aren't built in, you may tax its CPU capacity.

Most of these chips should support 64 GB. That's what Intel says the 6600T can support.

64 GB is almost always going to be overkill, but with DDR4 prices going under $2/GB for some of these slower kits, it's not going to break the bank if you want to do it. Set up a ramdrive or something.

I'll look at the manual to confirm after I get mine.

you still have a working pogoplug? Mine stopped working after they said they're turning it off and I couldn't login to it anymore.
