On the checkout page it says "Must bring your phone number to Mint". Does that mean you *must* port in your number, or in order to use their SIM, they won't give you a new number, you have to port your own?
In various Pixel phone and mint mobile 6+6 mo port-in plan threads, some people talk about 6 months without port-in but non of them said they did it recently (things may have changed since late last year which now everywhere says "Must bring your phone number") and no one provided the exist steps (they would see in the activation page recently) of skipping the port-in steps.

"New (port-in) subs. who purchase a Google Pixel 7 & any 12-month data plan receive a $400 discount on the device and a 50% discount (6 months) on the 12-month plan at checkout."

So I am not seeing how you pull this off with just the 6 month plan, as others have mentioned. But again, I am also intrigued at how MM would charge me the $400 later if I don't port-in to MM. I don't see any language that mentions an activation deadline or any recourse

Fine print says

Must bring your phone number to Mint
Does it specify the consequence if you don't? I assume it might be a retroactive charge for the full retail price of the phone?

Padded profit for Mint. It's NOT a government mandated fee.

You worried too much. If there's charge back Mint should have included in the terms, otherwise no worries.

Where does it state 6-month service without port in? The price is 12 months plan with the condition "Must bring your phone number to Mint."

rock solid deal front page like earlier. this time it is cheaper.
read old deals for details.
They were cancelling orders because out of stock last week. Now they are advertising at a lower price? Makes no sense

Has ANYONE personally able to activate this kind of 6+6 months port-in plan deal this year (2023) WITHOUT porting in the number during activation steps?

Things can quickly change and the deal may be different. So if you did it early last year doesn't mean it is the same as the more recent (this year) plan which checkout page and product page ALL said MUST port-in number. And in activation page, doesn't look like there is a way to skip the port-in step for this new 6+6 months plan(?)

If the activation steps RIGHT NOW must do the port-in step and no way to get around this, then OP need to modify the original post to include exactly HOW they were able to skip the port-in step so people can try.

Do the people feel remorse for jumping on $400 early?

I wasn't asked to do anything to port a number in. Just put in my CC info and clicked order. Got my confirmation page and email.

Damn I paid $100 more a few days ago and just received mine this morning. And Support is being an absolute stickler, the most they are willing to do is give me a $50 renewal credit... Tempted to just send everything back and re-order.
