I appear to have gotten a new phone number without having to port in, though I'm not sure how long it will last.

I tried porting in an old Boost number that I got from a different deal awhile back, that is expiring in a few days, and while inputting the account/pin info into the Mint app, I made a typo,

The app replied back that the number could not be ported so assigned me a "temporary" phone number instead (which is actually a nice number...ends with a zero, which I always like).

So far, I can make calls and receive texts on the number provided. If this number lasts, I'm gonna keep it, even though it probably means I'll only get 6 months instead of 12.
They always give a temporary number while the porting is in progress, maybe you've found a workaround but not sure I'd count on it.

well crap, my safelink VZW sim didn't work. "This device is already active. It cannot be used for this transaction." Shows tracfone but no connection. I'm already missing my S20+ but it's stuck on android 13 - probably not a problem for most. I just didn't want a lot of fuss, likely on safelink end
May need a new SIM from SafeLink or maybe they're one of the few that still requires you to tell them when you change devices. Should be an easy fix if you contact them.

yes, that might be it, maybe a fresh tracfone sim with 5G VZW tower. Or an eSIM. I tried the swap on their dashboard, edit, and maybe like TELLO they need some time for changes to take effect. voice and TXT and DATA all work now, thanks

Appreciate all your help in this deal!

Okay, doom and gloomers. I've been using the Pixel 7 all evening and I've not had a single fingerprint issue or fail.

I think a lot of the issues are with certain screen protectors. Was a big issue with Samsung in the beginning as well. I believe you can fiddle with the sensitivity options to overcome it somewhat but certain protectors are better than others.

I'm just going over some of the issues people have reported. I'm not sure what the GPS issue was that has been mentioned. I'm indoors under a metal roof and got a Time To First Fix in 31seconds.

I'm not a Pixel fanboy/girl, although this is my 2nd one. (I've also had a Google Nexus).

I went from S21 to Pixel 6a and now this 7. The Pixel 6a has the one year of Mint service. The 7 is running C Spire physical SIM ($25 month) and Visible eSIM ($15).(oh, I've not tried a FirstNet SIM in the Pixel. I find them too pricy for everyday use. )

At least the next search-and-rescue I go on I should get some phone coverage from the C Spire, Verizon, T-Mobile mix. Otherwise, the 6a/Mint will be a spare that sets at home.

I was trying a bunch of things, but if I recall correctly, when the Mint app gave the message that it could not port in the number based on the info I had provided, I couldn't get any further in the setup until I deleted the Mint app and reinstalled.it. I was then able to use the temp number it had previously provided to sign-in and setup a password.

Oh well...even if this number is just temporary, I was able to use it to verify getting another google voice number for potential port out in future deals..

Finally received the phone today, ordered on 3/3 around 3pm est.

I have opted for 12 month 10 GB plan,
can I use this plan on my iPhone 14 pro with esim option? TIA.

Had it in my cart but I waited too long and it went OOS. I just kept it in my cart and it was back in stock the next day (on the 5th). I may have messed up though. I wasn't sure if it went through because it had been several days with nothing but a confirmation, so I contacted CS to make sure it was coming. The next day I got a tracking number, but then I also got a letter from some foreign CS agent saying they cancelled my order because it was OOS. I called MM to tell them not to cancel the order and they said no refund was put in and that it was already on its way to Fedex.. I got a generated email from MM stating that it was refunded though.. I hate that every CS line seems to be outsourced.. You can never get anyone that actually understands the situation fully. I don't know which of them to believe.

What does the order status on their site say?

Why would anyone use a screen protector anymore? So you can distort the quality? I've had mine for a year now, no screen protector and no case. I never use those gross things on a screen.
